So apparently I have no sympathy for homeless people. We have this thing in New York where people walk from car to car on the subway and ask people for money backed up by some sob story, "like me and my family haven't eaten anything all day" or "my house burnt down" or whatever. I guess it's just that I've been approached so many times and so aggresively by crack heads that I have lost something. I haven't given away a dime since moving here. And as soon as I realize that someone is about to canvas for money I immediately start this angry inner monologue in my head "you're just a fucking drunk-get a job, you lazy ass-go to a homeless shelter-I already made a donation this year-Asshole you're probably one of those fuckers that makes more money panhandling than I do working hard for living-fuck"

I say people should carry one dollar gift certificates to mcdonald's to give to these people since they're always "so hungry"

oh, on a side note, pomegranates are delicious
