Mini-Peter and I are SOOOO disappoiinted...

I ordered a new camera at Best Buy about two and a half weeks ago, and the damn thing took until Saturday to get here (another rant entirely)... it's ORANGE, which is really really cool, but... the thing sucks.  The pictures are terrible!!  The $80 camera I returned so I could get this one (for $100 more) took better pictures!  I fell for it.  I really did.  I thought if I paid over twice as much, surely I'd get a better camera.  If it happened to be a beautiful, bright, Mini-Peter's Favourite Orange, well even better!!  But no.  With a flash it's okay, but only okay, and without flash the pictures are so grainy and noisy they look like you went into Photoshop and added noise intentionally.

Look at this!!!

This is a $180 camera.  There's no excuse for this.  I realize that $180 is on the cheap end for digital cameras, but STILL.  $180 should get you better than THIS!!!  Did I mention that my $80 Polaroid i533 was much, MUCH better??  So much for Fuji Finepix Z10.  Mini-Peter is absolutley disgusted that they could make such utter crap then paint it Orange.  It's been a hard lesson in "sometimes you DON'T get what you pay for!".  I guess maybe I paid for Orange paint.  Hell, I could paint it myself for the price of a can of spray paint and DON'T TEMPT ME.

I am going to play around with it a bit more today, get some pictures of Mini-Peter hanging ornaments on the mini-tree, see if I can find a setting that will work better indoors, since that is where I take most of my pictures... I really hope I can get some better quality out of this camera, because we were so excited about it being Orange, but I have a feeling that we will have to return it and get a plain, boring silver and black one.  The Canon SD1000 is about the same price and got great reviews at cnet.com, so we'll probably go with that one.  It has a cool boxy design that I like quite a bit, it just isn't Orange.  I guess the problem is that I want a) good pictures AND b) cool design for c) under $200.  Easy to find one or maybe two, but soooooooo hard to find all three.

Being broke sucks.  Spray paint, here I come!
