Well I attempted to make it to work today, and decided to turn around. I feel bad calling in but there was another girl working as well and I'm sure it won't be busy. plus I was sliding on the highway going 25mph and couldn't see where the lanes were.
I just checked the weather...8-12inches and "winter storm advisory" today 'til 7pm.
I got home excited to shovel but I can't get the shovel out of the garage cause the lock is frozen. I even checked to see if Tracey had a shovel on her porch and then I would just shovel hers, too. but no luck.
Taqi and Franklin got to run around in the snow and had fun though. I even let Taqi off the leash since there isn't any traffic and she wouldn't go too far in this weather.

The
Christmas Bird Count was a lot of fun yesterday. I was gone from 7am until 5pm. A great portion of that spent hiking a few miles searching for birds. All in all, the 4 groups got 36 different species and a couple of hundred birds (can't remember the number.)
It was 20 degrees F. and super icy. I managed to not fall somehow though.
I was in a group with Drew, Adam and Tyler. Although Tyler had to leave after lunch.

Drew jumping the creek. We all made it across at this part. However Drew broke through the ice and into the muck on a wider part on the way back. and Adam slipped off a log into the muck as well. Only a foot deep or so. I was laughing so hard I almost peed my pants though. Luckily it was our last stop for birding.
