nano day #16 and other nonsense

1033/16564   huge thanks to everyone who left words of encouragement for me after last night's little meltdown - i really appreciate all the support.

today i took mimi's advice and just wrote without thinking about the numbers.  :)  it helps that after i knocked off last night i had a little more idea of things to add to yesterday's scene.  and i also got an idea for another (totally out of sequential order) scene, so i can always start with that tomorrow if i want to.  so for today i am satisfied.  though the character i introduced yesterday might not turn out to be quite who i thought she was, which is totally fine, of course.  now i'm even more intrigued about exactly who she will turn out to be.  :D

other than that, i made it to the bank to deposit my check today, and bought the cat some more food.  she used to get half a can of wet food a day, and i draw the line at one can per day, but if i let her, she'd be going through more than that.  if i had my old income, i'd probably humor her (because i am completely whipped as anyone will tell you) but atm the budget is not as elastic as it used to be.  and what she'd really prefer is if i fed her a diet of roast chicken or turkey with an occasional grilled shrimp or two for variety.  poor old lady kitty.

i'd been having a lot of trouble with her jumping on me when i'm meditating.  it didn't used to be so bad, but when i'm doing the theta, it makes me jump out of my skin, which in turn often makes her lose her footing, and then i feel bad if she falls and/or scratches the hell out of me on the way down.  i've been using this energy break technique before i meditate, and it kind of amazes me how well it's been working.  the first time i did it, she was watching me; in fact, she  was standing there yowling at me, and i did it, and she looked at me with this disgusted look, then went and curled up on her footstool and went to sleep.  since then, i've been tracking the results.  the one day i forgot to do it, she came and would not leave me alone - circled from one end of the couch to the other and back again approximately six-eight times until i finally gave up.  on the days when i've done it, she usually leaves me completely alone.  on the two occasions when she's come over to the couch, she comes over, i ignore her, and she leaves immediately after just one attempt.  it has vastly improved our relationship because she was quite frankly driving me batty, but now i can do this and immediately i don't feel so enmeshed with her and it's all so much better.  yet another way in which the theta is vastly improving the quality of my life.  :D

*hugs*
