yay! my lupin big bang is long enough!
today i wrote 1400+ words and surpassed the 20000 word mark. granted, some of that is utterly craptastic and will need to be rewritten, but at least it's DOWN ON PAPER instead of careening about in my head, confusing me, and it's LONG ENOUGH. one thing that happened today - i realized i SUCK at writing action scenes. well, not the smutty kind of action - that i think i'm good at. but magical battle scene action. that shit is hard, and i suck at it. i mean, i really, really suck at it. :( anyway, there're still some rough edges to polish in terms of where i fit the stuff i'd written earlier in with the stuff i just wrote, but at least there is a sort of draft from which i can work, instead of just that empty page (okay, computer screen) staring at me, taunting me with its endless empty potentiality.

on the home front, the man came to hang new blinds today, and with that, the work on the dining room is complete. yay! in a triumph of stubbornness over common sense, i managed to move the buffet back myself. the hutch i had to wait for help, as that required actual lifting. fortunately the manager of my apartment complex came down to help me because i'm not certain i wouldn't have tried it by myself before the evening was over. oh yeah, and before that, i self-installed my new internet connection, climbing over the mountain of furniture that i had not yet moved out of the living room. that was fun. oh, and the manager said he'd like to replace the linoleum in the bathroom so that it matches, which makes me really happy, and there's some other stuff to do in there. so yeah, there'll be work on the bathroom soon. oh, joy. but it should not be anywhere near as disruptive.
yes, i'm feeling rather accomplished today. :D
