The doctor's appointment went well. The doctor was pretty awesome. She's from Estonia, which is some foreign country that used to be in the USSR, and has a great accent because of it (it kind of reminds me of Russian and Swedish). Even with the accent I could understand her perfectly and she was nice and asked questions and listened to mine, which I hear is a problem with some doctors.
I asked about my hypochondria; she said it's pretty normal for kids around my age (especially with a history of anxiety in their families - I have no prior anxiety but my mother is a very nervous person by nature, and my father experiences panic attacks) to worry about their own mortality and stuff, but if it got to the point where it was interfering with daily life, I could go to counseling. So she gave me a number for counseling. I'm not sure if it's hypochondria counseling or just general anxiety counseling, and if it's group counseling or what. But I'll check it out later.
I got a basic physical - everything seems to be in order - and got blood taken also, to check for thyroid problems linked to anxiety as well as chicken pox (Mom isn't sure if I had it as a kid or not). We got some of the results back today. Nothing about chicken pox or thyroids (that sounds too much like "gyroids"), so I guess there's another part coming soon. But they did the basic tests - haemoglobin, sodium, blood sugar, glucose count, etc, as well as kidney problems - and it seems I am within the average for all of them!
Well, except for one - Basophil. The average is 0-1, and I am 2. Wikipedia says Basophil is one of two things - I'm going to guess
Basophil granulocyte. It says nothing about a high count, but a low count could mean future leukemia. So... better high than low I guess. I'm mostly just happy to know that my glucose and blood sugar are normal, since I do eat a lot of sweets and it was something I worried about.
I got Elite Beat Agents and Puzzle Quest. Puzzle Quest is basically addictive rape. You get reamed by opponents a lot but you just can't put the damn thing down. It's really addictive! It's basically Bejeweled + RPG elements. There's a level up system and spells and equipment and a plot and it's wonderful. I suggest it to anyone who enjoys puzzles, RPGs, and the idea of a puzzle RPG.
Elite Beat Agents is both ridiculous and hilarious. It's great. The gameplay is amusing as well.
