Cosplay Shoot: A Day of Sun
Location: Thanksgiving Point (both the gardens and emporain gardens)
Date: July 23, 2008 from 9:30am to 2pm

So about Sunday night I now have Garnet Runstar and Melissa-chan (cosplay.com names) want to set up a photo shoot. We all had wesnday off, so I said, I have cool connection, lets do the gardens. Please get this strait for those in utah intrested in Thanksgiving Point as a photo shoot location, YOU HAVE TO BUY A PASS!! I work there, so I pay my pass in labor and showing my costume to them. ^_^v Come monday night, Melissia-chan has work, so said she wasn't going to be able to come. I was thinking of doing Hikaru instead for the shot but Hikaru is very hot costume. It was made for Halloween, and in utah, it usally snows. I thought it best to do my new Sakura even if she isn't 100% done. (Needs shoes, staff, wings, and other leg frill thing.) Up and early I rise, semi fighting for the shower and get ready for the shoot. One of the few times I wear make up, I must have good make-up for my cosplay shoots.  Get to the point about 9:20am. I am usally always early but at least on time. Garnet was running a little late do to picking up...Mintas (minion + assitant). By the time I was able to get the photopass, she final got there, about 10:05ish. I had started to freak. I wanted it done early morning as it was going to get hot soon and kill the katie and peoples. Garnet gives good news and said that Melissia might still make it. YAH! So we did the shop area photos.

Garnet was gitty and a joy to work with. I got to look at pretty blue eyes for my shoot. >.< I used my new van shoes I'd bought like, two weeks ago, and because them being still fairly new, they looked ok with the costume. I love sneekers. >.< It was fun to show all the little garden stuff just behind the shops. I think I got better flower backgrounds here then in the gardens. Note: Don't go into the flower beds, no killing the points flowers. Leave them happy for other photo shoots. About 11 o'clock we where ready to move on, so to the garden we went. I first made my ladies get a large up of water from the deli. I didn't want them to die in the gardens. Hot day means you must have water. Lucky and nicely enough the people at the desk knew me so had no problems with giving my friends my discount to the garden, usally a $10 admission (totally worth is people.) And have my photographer. ^_^v They have wagons, gold carts and those one man schooter things for rent there. So we took off with on of the wagons.

We also took a unbrella because it just looked fun but its very large so I didn't use it much, like not at all. But hey, it was fun for the moment. I made sure to bring a towel. I try to keep a towel in the back of my car at all times, a true hitchhicker guilde trate. Towel made it so I could sit on the grass but for the most part it was was wet, and I did not want to muddy up my dress as the fabric did say dry clean only.

The other girl in photo in Mintas ( I can't remember her real name >.<) She really didn't want to be in any picture.  First picture is like "yah, random chick, U R stoKer." XD And second was she saying she didn't want photos, so what does Katie do, grabs her and does the cute asisn peace sign pose. Mahahaha, yes I'm evil, run away if you see me. We got to, about the center of the Gardens (by the way, its 55 arcarde gardens, you can get lost.), and melissa calls, she was at the point. She had called shortly after we had started walking down the paths and we told her to call when she got to the watertower.  So, by that we had to go back to the visitor shop to get her in knowing she was part of my group. Now I had Tomoyo in her chour outfit to cosplay with, YAH! She had just done a photoshoot with Garnet the week before and I was like, "how can you have a tomoyo shoot and not have Sakura. -pout-" Most times I have a hard time finding groups to be part with, that is why I usally do main characters because I'm usally stage.

Played tag by the falls but that was messing up our hair so we didn't do it much.

First was by the pillars that Garnet was slighly in love with, I think. She found them epic cool, I guess. Second is more of the tipical reacion of Sakura in Tomoyo outfits and third is epic cool because I LOVE waterlilies, they are by far my favorite flower. We were really lucky to get some few clouds in the background for contrast in shot. Garnet is a cosplay photographer in training but she is doing a great job.

The two cute girls. I love the shot mostly because you can see my eye color. (not when its shrunk down, click on it to see larger.) Her camera is awasome. Most photos kind of dark out my eyes but I really do have more of a light hazel eyes, that is why I can get green inhancers to work on me. That reminds me, need to get more as I'm out and didn't even have any for this shoot.

The first two shots in my dream location for my Princess dress. If you know the movie, you now why ist perfect. Sunset will be great and maybe be able to get some night shot...not likely as its closed and I wound need flood lights to light it right. I can dream right? The last photo was the last of the gardens. It was getting to be 1pm and way hot and we needed food. Next time, picnic, be it was best to leave. I had pulled on my ribbion when getting up one time and broke my gartter, so it woundn't stay up any more. Any idea on how I could improve the costume, I'm all willing. My mom says I should make the star of a different fabric as it doesn't quite meet up with the nice fabric of the rest of the dress. And when I got home, I relized I had my socks on the wring legs, DOUH!! But after this we went to the deli for icecream.

Kids can make a shoot all the more worth is. The deli was still in lunch rush mode so there where a few people and family. These three girls where totally in love with me. They though I was princess, like from the disney and so forth. I couldn't really explain it was a magical girl show. There is not magcail girl show to realte to them, but they where great and sweet. After that, I took the group to my house, shows how Sakura Princess is coming along, and how it kind of sucks. I was able to stick Garnet's video card into the PS3 and have are own little after slide show. PS3 rules for its extras. ^_^v FInal around 5, my mom was making dinner so kick them out and I had my first meal of the day. >.< Yah, I have a hard time keeping up with food when doing cosplay. All is all, is was great fun. I sweat buckets and my costume stank, and I didn't want it to smell. I took some scraps and found out, it washes really nicely on the gental cycel and hang dry. YAH!! I don't ever have to worry about confunk on my costumes. (I have to smell nice.) Only down was finding that night I was burn lobster red on my arms and neck line (on on my chest and back.) My neck was protected by the necklace. I owe the gardner at the point a photo because she saw me in the dress and I think it would be a good gift to show off her own gardening work in photos. She has a crew of three others, they work all week to keep them up. They deserve loads of prase, this is one of the best gardens in the USA. Now, ending photo. Note: My first layer of white skirt doesn't really good all the way around, I ran out of fabric, so you think I should place a small white bow in the back to hide the pink gap?

The End (for now)
