I've adjusted as best I can to living out of boxes in Nick's 1 bedroom apartment. He posted a bunch of stuff on craigs list and has been selling them off daily. At the moment, we have enough money to get by comfortably. This is nice, as we've been living paycheck-to-paycheck for months now, cutting costs wherever possible, and even skipped buying groceries for a month (I bought the essentials on my SUperfood card, and we cooked the stuff we already had in the freezer and cabinets). Mom heard that we were determined to not spend ANY money for one full month, and to help us out, she sent us boxes of pasta and other non-perishables, along with what she usually sends us -- gifts for Malachi. (She loves buying things for that boy.)
We came through all of that and when Nick got his tax refund, we got back on our feet. Now we're doing fine. Not great, but we're able to pay bills. Soon we'll start chipping away at out credit card debt. We'll keep pushing on, and hopefully, we'll keep succeeding.
Out apartment should be ready any day now. As soon as we get the keys I'm going to start moving boxes. Most of Nick's things are already packed (and organized, thanks to me). I hope this move goes as smoothly as possible. Then, after graduation, I'm headed home for a few days to pack, attend Laurie's graduation, and get my furniture.
On the job front, I was able to pick up some hours at the Dome for a little extra cash, and thanks to Tel-Auc, I've got lots of hours at PBS next week.
Things are good. I'll try to update the next time I'm on teh intarwebs.
