Some strangely dressed people arrive, destroy a building, and suddenly half the City is falling at their feet in awe? If I'd known it was that easy to get respect around here, I'd have demolished an office block months ago.
Let's run down what we know about the newcomers, shall we?
1) They have unknown origins.
2) They blow stuff up.
3) They rarely answer questions directly.
All in all, they sound suspiciously like our old deity friends, with absolutely no proof to back their claims of being anything better. And has everyone forgotten the various portents of doom the psychics have been throwing around recently?
Claiming that the enemy of your enemy is your friend isn't only naïve, it's completely moronic. Speaking from personal experience: the enemy of your enemy is likely to be even bigger, stronger and more of a threat than your initial problem, and you should keep well out of their way.
And speaking from common sense: didn't your parents ever warn you not to hitchhike a lift with strangers?
what trust issues?,
stewards,
city plot,
wtf?,
aliens aren't to be trusted
