Is this the official month for unsavoury, unpleasant, and flat-out disgusting curses? I swear, if this place gets any more bodies or parts of bodies the next time there's a curse... newcomers are going to start mistaking it for a giant morgue. Only with less of the peace and quiet ( Read more... )

post-curse, pessimist kitty is pessimistic

It's just a childish display of how much has been forgotten in a millenia. Pay it no mind, or at least, try to.

And the no-nightmares bit is a good thing, I assure you. Adaptability is most congradulated.

Dead bodies strewn around the place is childish where you come from? I shudder to think what the kids get up to in your world.

Yeah, I suppose. But you'll have to excuse me if I don't start celebrating it.

You should ask Caliban so he can give you the cold shoulder and shutter antisocially. Thought, yes, that is so tritely called "child's play" to the creatures who inhabit our metropolitian night.

No, no, you missed the celebration day, boo-hoo.

And as tempting a prospect for socialising as that sounds, I think I'll pass. ...Creatures such as?

The heartfelt sympathy is appreciated.

You would probably quite like Caliban, actually, he's almost as sarcastic as you. He's got a monopoly on pessimism and self-pity, though. Many creatures, big and small, most all nocturnal and violent. Not, of course, that it will stop them from killing you durring the day, I promise.

Because it is indeed heartfelt and emotional. I'm crying. Really.

And I'm usually such a cheerful, optimistic person myself. And that sounds... eventful. But it looks like you've managed to survive for quite a while, haven't you?

If you're able to convey that much emotion, maybe you should consider an acting career.

It would balance out quite nicely with his black nailpolish, poetry and loud music. Since the dawn of recorded time, yes.

I did, for a time. There are very few things I haven't done.

So if you've been around since the dawn of recorded time, and you've done just about everything... have you tried black nailpolish, poetry and loud music?

No, Caliban does it, and that's enough for me. I can learn from observation, it is possible.

I've heard some girls find the semi-gothic look quite attractive.

Which is why he has someone. Ask him, so he can shrug and shake again.

I, however, have many someones and no reason to copy another's depressing approach. Mine works so much better.

In my experience, provoking shaking and shrugging is never a good thing.

...And your stellar approach would be which one, exactly?

There are very few things that one can do to the boy where such a response is not elicited.

Charming, good looks, affluence... Also, as we've previously stated with my tears of sympathy, I'm sensitive. And there are other things... but it’s all too numerous to tally up here, really.

You come across as a little protective of him, do you realise that?

Considering I have all of those qualities and more, it doesn't sound extraordinarily special.

Oh, really? I do? It must be... because I am, yes. Though 'protective' is not the word you are looking for so much as 'worried' or possibly 'annoyed'.

Yes, that's why I keep you around, remember.

So why 'worried'?

Charming, but I'm not kept around by anyone, thanks very much. Call me a free spirit.
