Wow, so time just flies by when you are packing and trying to finalize house sales.
The buyer of our house requested that we scrape/paint the fascia on the garage, reglaze/paint the house windows, flush out the air conditioner, vacuum out the furnace, and have some galvanized flashing installed between the current galvanized flashing and the gutter to protect the woodwork on the south side of the house better.
We have agreed to do all that and signed the paperwork. We've actually completed most of that already, including repainting the entire garage and also paid to have a couple of cracked windows repaired. We are waiting on them to sign the paperwork as well (if they haven't already) and then we get a SOLD sign instead of a Sale Pending sign in our front yard.
As for the house we are buying, the sellers were asked by us to repair the garage door and to add a railing to the back deck (required by the city due to safety concerns before house can be sold to us). They also have agreed to get these things done. We haven't seen the paperwork to sign off on these two things yet, but we expect it soon. And then they get a pretty SOLD sign over there too.
In the meanwhile, we just continue to pack pack pack. This weekend we are going to begin moving a bunch of boxes and anything not nailed down (except maybe not the kids) over to my parents garage to store until move day, May 20th. The whole thought of having to have everything out of our house, then going to sign paperwork, and then moving everything into the new house that day (with plans to unpack the next day) just has me flustered. Its going to be a lot to do in one day and I just continue to pray that we get people over to help. I know we've got a few friends who say they will and some family that is planning to, plus the kids are going to be going to visit grandpa and grandma for those few days. But... its still going to be a pain.
Anyhow... that's where things are at right now.
