The Powers that be in N.O. La. must all be assholes

Last night was the first football game played inside the Superdome since Katrina hit. Okay. First of all, I wouldn't set one single toe inside that place. No one can convince me that there aren't some really nasty germs and bacteria still lurking in nooks and crannys of that place. There isn't any possible way they could have fumigated every inch of that cesspool and give 100% surity of no contamination. Can you even imagine eating anything from there? Not me. But that's not my main problem with it being reopened. I'm all for the Saints remaining in New Orleans. I think it's wonderful that they even want to. BUT, they spent $145 MILLION on renovations! Now, I have not been to NO and am not an expert, but we've all seen the pics of the parts of NO that were the most devestated in the hurricane one year later, and nothing has been done. The homes are all still there, mud covered, condemned, uninhabitable, and they spend millions on a sports arena. Why?? That amount of money should have served a better purpose. Demolish those properties so that NO can rebuild. To me it is a total waste of money to build a sports stadium when there is so much human need still in New Orleans. But then again, it's politics. And those idiots re-elected Mr Nagins for another term as mayor. He isn't going to build his "chocolate city" by starting with a sports arena..no wait...the majority of football players are.... Nevermind.

katrina, new orleans, saints
