taking a study break!
eyeballs about to fall out.
brain about to explode.
if you know what bernini is all about...keep reading.
college is going by so fast. i took that senior survey that asks what we thought about our college life and of course it made me flashback to what happened in the past four years...lots of dancing, late night talks with floormates, puzzles runs, shopping in santa monica, madness in the apartment, drunken nights that ended at denny's, having a million crushes, crazy hair experimentation, meeting new people and i guess school. hahaha
seriously though, I feel really fortunate to have had such a positive college experience. i've met so many people and even though everyone comes and goes it's nice to know that each person affects you in some way. it's weird to think that every little (or big) thing I have experienced has shaped me to be whoever I am now. I can't imagine what my college experience would have been like if I didn't dance with ACA or if I didn't meet Tuyet or if I didn't keep in touch with my friends from home...but one thing for sure, I absolutely have no regrets. life as a college student is awesome...
so with that in mind, there is something I want to say to my friend:
i don't even know if you'll read this or whether you'll know that is it YOU I'm specifically addressing...stop holding on to your past. You don't have that much time left to enjoy ucla...so start living it up...sacrifice a good night's rest (or a couple) to stay out and party. go eat in westwood even if you hate walking. Spontaneously gather your friends to go watch a movie at ackerman. Go to a concert. Go talk to whatever girl that catches your attention. Go to the Getty even if you don't have an opinion on art. eat lunch on campus with someone you don't really know. go to the dining hall and eat with your buddies and sit around afterwards. study at kerckhoff patio so random people you know can stop by and chill with you during their breaks. if you pass by someone on campus, actually stop and have a conversation. morale at dance marathon, or donate money to people who are in it. find something to be really passionate about...
I don't want you to leave here and not have anything to look back on. the best thing about college is that it's NOT the same as high school so embrace that difference. i really hope you will love everything about college just as much as you did with high school. these are the last few years where you get to wake up and not know what will happen in your day. you're going to spend the rest of your life following some consistent routine so enjoy the freedom you have and take advantage of it. perhaps you already knew all of this and you don't need me to repeat it, but I just wanted to make sure I did my job as your friend. =)
okay that's all. this was too long of an entry. no more writing until after may 19th. byeeeeeeeeeeee
