Arts, BNP, and stupidity

Some of you may be aware of the current scandal involving Simone Clarke, first ballerina at the English National Ballet.
Clarke, 36, has recently been outed as a card-carrying member of the extreme-right political party, the British National Party.
This has been causing difficulties to the English National Ballet, a company publicly funded by the Arts Council of England, and therefore obliged by the Race Relations Act to contribute to race equality and promote good race relations. Therefore, having one of its highest profile employees publicly declaring her allegiance to a racist and anti-immigration movement, is looking 'a bit' dirty.

What makes me laugh though it's S. Clarke's stupidy. According to the Guardian, Richard Barnbrook, BNP councillor for Barking and Dagenham, commented about S. Clarke's relationship with Cuban-Chinese dancer Yat-Sen Chang.

"She's not racist - she's going out with someone who is not of her own race," he said. But he said, he hoped the couple would not have children.
"I'm not opposed to mixed marriages but their children are washing out the identity of this country's indigenous people," he explained, quickly adding: "That's my view, it's not the party's view."

Apart from the fact that this comment made me want to throw up, what i really don't understand is how S. Clarke can be backing the BNP while being (i suppose) in love with an immigrant, and how she can stick with people having eugenist and pure-blood-type opinions regarding to her love relationship.

racism, crap, london news, arts, livin'in'england
