Well, in the quest to figure out just what in the world is WRONG with me, I've returned to WebMD for ideas.
Thyroid problems - I've got about 60% of those symptoms.
However, I also have symptoms that sound an awful lot like mild to moderate hypoglycemia.
[Snagged from WebMD's A-Z thingamagummit with useful info... Yesh.]
Hypoglycemia (Low Blood Sugar)
Symptoms
The symptoms of hypoglycemia may vary from episode to episode because low blood sugar can be mild, moderate, or severe. Increasingly severe symptoms appear as the blood sugar level falls.
In healthy people, blood sugar levels when fasting (between meals) are usually between 70 and 110 milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL).2
Mild hypoglycemia
Symptoms of mild low blood sugar usually develop when blood sugar falls below 60 to 65 mg/dL and may include:
* Nausea.
* Extreme hunger.
* Feeling nervous or jittery.
* Cold, clammy, wet skin; excessive sweating not caused by exercise.
* A rapid heartbeat (tachycardia).
* Numbness or tingling of the fingertips or lips.
* Trembling.
Moderate hypoglycemia
If blood sugar continues to fall, the nervous system will be affected. Symptoms usually develop when the blood sugar falls below 50 mg/dL and may include:
* Mood changes, such as irritability, anxiety, restlessness, or anger.
* Confusion, difficulty in thinking, or inability to concentrate.
* Blurred vision, dizziness, or headache.
* Weakness, lack of energy.
* Poor coordination.
* Difficulty walking or talking, such as staggering or slurred speech.
* Fatigue, lethargy, or drowsiness.
Now, running down this list, I tend to get most of the moderate symptoms. I don't notice a great deal of the 'mild' ones, however, other than the rapid heartbeat one (rather disturbing on its own, really).
=====
All of my symptoms have gotten much less, though, since leaving the last job. [Well big surprise there, less stress = fewer health problems.] But I still have episodes of dizziness/vertigo, blurry vision, coordination problems, and rather inexplicable mood changes (I would like to cite Friday afternoon starting around 6:30-ish, for those of you in the know.), among other things.
So, if I ever get around to doing the bloodwork I'm supposed to (faugh on you, medical industry! A pox upon thee!), we may find out just whatinhell it is. Or at least, isn't. Hm.
