I post infrequently, but oh-my-stars-and-garters, I have to indulge in some knitting-squee. Most of you don't knit, so please be kind and try and share my delight.
The Italian Cast-on is one of the most beautiful techniques I have ever encountered. It's an incredibly elegant, delightful method and creates an even, stretchy edge. And, oh, the thought of a tubular cast-on for stocking stitch? Why, I'm having excited palpitations at the though.
I may very well leave the home I have created with collatdamag and elope with this utterly charming process. I could be content to live out my days casting-on Italian style. Provided, of course, that my new Latin Love can accommodate my otherloves, Short-row shaping and Riverbed sock construction.
My only guilt is that I'm discovering this new fetish while making a hat for my brother. That seems a little sordid.
