But the good side of religion is that it brings together a community.
What about the amish people, who when one of their's murder some of them, they went to forgive him. And the support given to people in troubled times to help each other. This spreads into christian areas as well, but not as highly.

Lots of other things bring people together into a community without the kind of fear and hate mongering found in a lot of religious communities. You can live a good life and belong to a good community without religion.

Of course there is a lot of hate mongering in the anglican church, which hates everyone, and has even chosen not to let gays become ministers.
Or other protestant churchs which allow women to become ministers, and aren't racist.
Or Christian aid, which is a highly racist organisation and isn't a charity organisation based on faith.
I can't argue for Islam, which is evil. Or Hinduism. Or any others, but christianity isn't a bad thing.
Atheism is also a religion, through being a belief system. You simply believe in one less god than a christian would. And have many of their views. Such as the idea of tolerance.

I'm not talking about any specific religion. Islam isn't evil. There's just a lot of hate mongering generally, you're hate mongering right now on the premise of being "right".
Atheism is not a religion, it's just a lack of belief in any religion. Just like baldness is a lack of hair. I don't agree with other atheists on any other point than "there isn't a god".

I just dislike intolerance, I have no problem with people believing what they want to believe in practice, I just think the world would be a lot better without religion.
There's no proof that god exists either. I choose to believe that there isn't a god because the arguments I've heard against the idea are far more convincing, in my eyes, than the ones I've heard for it.
One belief isn't much of a system. It's just an idea, rather than a relgion. A relgion is organised and dogmatic, atheism is justnot thinking that there's some higher power that created and controls everything.
I really don't give a shit to be honest, this is my journal, not a place to defend my beliefs. Go away.
