I could not get this to have the links as a reply, so it gets a post.

To obtain a passport for the first time, you need to go in person to one of over 9,000 passport acceptance facilities located throughout the United States with: two photographs of yourself, proof of U.S. citizenship, a valid form of photo identification such as a driver’s license.

So you should go online and fill out this application and print it.

http://www.travel.state.gov/passport/forms/ds11/ds11_842.html

“NOTE: Please do NOT sign the DS-11 application form until the Passport Acceptance Agent instructs you to do so.”

You can go to a post office, most fedex places, cvs, pretty much any drug store and get passport photos or you can go to the following places and submit application and get photo done conveniently at one location!

Things have been moving faster lately, so if you do it now, you should have no trouble.
