Another Evil Plot Bunny!
Because I’m a very bad girl and because the first one came out as the awesome fiction “Knights” by cerchilaverita (my guru, my light in the dark ^^), I’m very glad to propose you another Evil Plot Bunny! This time I’ve got the inspiration by the animated series and some things I read surfing on Internet.
We’re after THE LAST STAND and many, many things have changed.
After what occurred at Alcatraz, life for mutants has become harder and harder. Secretary Trask has legalized the construction of the Sentinels and the Cure has showed its darkest and mortal secret… a particular anomaly: the Legacy Virus.
Kitty Pride is now alone, her love dream with Bobby melted like snow in a hot summer day with Rogue’s return.
She has decided to leave the mansion for a time, trying to find the true her-self and the answers she needs. One day, on her road she meets John Allerdyce, Pyro.
He is alive, saved by the strangest thief you can ask for: Remy Le Beau. But he is not the same boy Kitty battled at Alcatraz. John has lost his fire, his will to live, along with the belief in Magneto’s ideas. He doesn’t know who is anymore.
And if you think things are complicated, what will you do when two strange young teens are put in this mess?
They are twins;
They seem to know a lot about the Virus;
They are particularly fascinated with fire and science;
They hate Bobby Drake like no one else and, above all, they are incredibly similar to someone the X-men know very well.
Guys, meet Fire-cat and Shadow-light alias Lilith and Johnny.
What’s their secret? They were sent from the Future by their mother to avert the complete annihilation of the mutant race, caused by the Second Legacy Virus.
But, while Lilith is determined to complete her mission (and make Logan confess his new feelings for Storm); all her brother wants is to meet their father.
The same father who died triggering the antidote of the First Virus when they were only babies, saving all the mutants.
The same father whose memory makes their mother cry every night.
The same father Ice-man hates so much for crashing (in Bobby’s mind) their mother’s life.
The same father who has left him a Zippo lighter with a message on: NEVER GIVE UP.
The fight against Trask and the Virus is arriving at its top very quickly and old players are back on the scene.
For the Brotherhood, we have Magneto who is trying to rebuild his army. And, with him, a new dangerous ally: Emma Frost, who seems very eager to put her hands on the twins from the future.
For the X-men: Scott Summers, Charles Xavier and Kurt Wagner along a recalcitrant Gambit.
Gambit, who knows something about Wolverine’s past and has a strange effect on Rogue.
During a fight against the Sentinels, Johnny is captured by Emma Frost who finds in his mind two important secrets.
While Xavier reads Lilith’s memories to find out the reason she and her brother were sent back from the Future, Johnny starts to tell Magneto his truth.
He is St. John Allerdyce IV, eldest son of St. John Allerdyce III and Katherine Pride Allerdyce. In his and his sister’s mind, Future Kitty hid the antidote formula.
But it’s an incomplete formula because it has to be injected in somebody who dies saving all the others.
While John and Kitty are trying to save their son and understanding the new feeling that ties them, the X-men are going to face a very difficult choice… who is going to die to save the mutant race?
