Zico
I had been walking around town from around 12:30. I really didn’t expect to meet either Big Bang or Zico. I had pretty much given up hope. My friend and I were going round the last few shops. I had said to my friend that the only place I thought we would see Zico was in a music shop such as HMV. We were walking towards HMV when we spotted some Asian people with cameras. At first glance, I thought they were just tourists and my friend turned to me and said “Nope that’s not them either.” I agreed but then I took a closer look and saw that they were carrying video cameras. I kept watching them and that’s when I spotted him. I turned to my friend and said “It’s him. It’s Zico”. My friend couldn’t believe it. Neither could I!
We followed them to the front of HMV where they were filming in front of the store at a EMAs poster. They were pointing at it and then a crazy tourist bus advertiser started shouting Big Bang and practically harassing them in front of the cameras. I didn’t know what to do. I told my friend I was going over to take a few photos. I moved in closer and was standing just beside some of the video cameras.
The guy beside me turned to me and said “Do you know who he is?” I said “Yeah Zico from Block B”. I should’ve known better. The guy was with them. I thought he was just a tourist. Next thing I know he’s shouting in Korean that I know who Zico is. I’m standing there shocked, thinking what have I done. The next thing I know Zico and the MC (I think) are shouting “Come here, Come here!” I could’ve died. I think I literally skipped over and stood between them. I could not believe any of this was happening. I was getting interviewed!
Here’s what happened. I’m kind of totally embarrassed and I hope the interview never sees the light of day. I really don’t want to see it on Match Up or something. If 7ONTHEBLOCK sub it, I really want to add what I wished I’d said or done. The MC spoke English so he asked most of the questions.
MC: How did you find out about Block B?
Me: The internet
Zico says something about favourite in Korean.
MC: Who’s your favourite?
Me: *smile, look down* B Bomb
Zico: No! No! *stomps around like a child*
MC: What bands do you like?
Me: Loads of bands
MC: Big Bang or any other bands?
Me: Big Bang, Block B, SNSD, TVXQ (I literally had a mental blank. I didn’t even mention Infinite or MBLAQ)
MC: Do any of your friends like K pop?
Me: No, not really just me. *forever alone*
MC: What’s your favourite Big Bang song?
Me: *Mental blank* Haru?
MC: Haru Haru?
Me: Yes
MC: Would you like to sing a bit of it?
Me: No *shaking head frantically* (At this point, I’m completely panicking because I can’t remember the tune the words anything to do with Haru)
Zico: Come on *starts singing Haru which I still don’t recognise*
Me: *trying to sing along but failing completely. I’m convinced I was singing Lie or something*
MC: Would you like to say anything to any K pop bands or Big Bang? Into that camera
Me: Hwaiting (I’m such a loser)
Zico laughs
MC: Do you want a picture with him?
Me: Ummm yea
The photos were taken but my hand shakes while trying to do the Block B sign.
MC: Thank you
Me: Thank you (in Korean)

I’m sorry to all VIPs. I like Big Bang but I was nervous and couldn’t remember anything. I think it was an MTV show so I’m going to try and email someone and beg them not to show the singing bit. I don’t think I even knew my own name at this point. I call it the “Zico effect” lol. I just can’t believe it happened. The rest of the night I kept looking at my friend and asking “Did that happen?”
