Nanowrimo: day 12

Nov 12, 2009 22:28

If I hear ANYONE say the words "People shouldn't try so hard to be offended", or any variation thereof, ONCE more, I shall have to slap a bitch, as I believe the vernacular goes. This is due to a severe case of Not Getting It over this issue. I don't even watch the show but the only person I don't want to bitch slap is nightcamedown. Anyone who says "It's called acting for a REASON" gets a double kitty_wake patent bitchslap, and warning: I AM growing my fingernails.

OTOH I'm now feeling a little guilty about enjoying Saved!... does this make me a hypocrite? Or does it just reflect that back in 2005, when I first saw that movie, I didn't care so much about disability and the media?

Anyway. Spent most of the day translating stuff out of German and working out how to set up my computer to play DVDs in Turkish but display subtitles in German. It's very jarring to watch Star Trek like that, but Turkish!Robau has a lovely voice. (Turkish George Kirk has a bizarrely deep voice.) Damned if I know what he's saying, though; it's hard as hell to read in German and listen in a language you know nothing of.

Writing: I have nothing to say, for the first time. I've covered media, short of cataloguing the ink I use. I've covered difficulties. I've covered triumphs. I'm going to work on the novel tomorrow more; sandwiches and chocolate in the library!

Word count: who knows? I haven't even been the Nano website recently because it's full of stupid.

stupidity, german, disability, nanowrimo
