Ahhhhhhhh so here I go, with my first weekend away!
Well, we got on the highway around 6 on Friday night and in lovely long-weekend fashion we hit some stupid volume. I say stupid because there was really no reason for it! We kept going though and going, and going and never trust Mapquest!!! We ended up in Brampton! lol We always get lost! And we always tell our friend D that if we're late, we've landed ourselves in Quebec! We're bad at navigation. lol
But we made it there okay, pigged out on Swiss Chalet and watched TV, went for a swim and hot-tubbing (mmm, good for achey muscles) and to bed!
The GO train into T.O. was paaaaaaaaaaacked! And we thought it was for Caribana, but nearly everyone got off at the Ex! We walked down to the Princess of Wales theatre and got there in time to browse all the little goodies before we had our seat in the gorgeous theatre! The whole stage and continuing on had all knotted wood around it! Was great when they had the green lights on it because it looked like leaves...and other lights gave it a different effect! Very cool.
There was a cute little hobbit show before the play started, they were all trying to catch fireflies with differently shaped nets, it was very cute.
And the play, I think, was wonderful! But I like everything LOTR related. I had to detach myself from the movies though or I would have ended up being disappointed. Because I'm a huge fan of Rohan and Eomer and Eowyn...and the two towers was pretty much just brushed over except for Helm's deep.
But I had to remember, this is 3 books in 3 hours. And the things they did get to keep were pretty good. But the thing was, the songs were so good! They were all poems from the book, so now I'm anxious to go flipping through to find the poems.
Also, I wanted to comment and say that there are some good people left in the world. Twice this weekend I nearly lost two seperate sweaters. They were both turned in instead of being stolen, and I'm so grateful! I couldn't believe it, both times I thought 'well that's it then' but no, it was all good and people were very honest.
We went to Silver Snail and all hell made me feel so frustrated! It's a long and narrow store, where no one says excuse me and just tend to push at you until you move or get out of the way. God, I got so mad I didn't even go to Lush on Queen St. till it was too late and they were closed. durr! I saw something at Silver Snail I really wanted though...actually 3 things, and if I can eventually get all 3, I'll be very happy. They had mini-replica helmets from LOTR the movies...they had Merry's Rohan helmet, Eowyn's helmet and Eomer's helmet....dude, they were only $35 apiece! So maybe I'll just get Merry's at the con.
I only really want a couple things to buy at the con:
1. Buffy's Cross necklace
2. Some sort of jewellery item from Angel (to complete my Joss jewellery tribute)
3. Now, Merry's helmet
But I have to consider that the autographs will cost a bit of money. Billy, Juliette, Carrie Fisher, Morena Baccarin...and Ray wants to meet a few people too, it's a good thing I'm getting my vacation pay for that weekend.
Anyway, back to this weekend. Sunday we checked out and packed up...but decided to head off to Square One!! Weeeeeeeeeeeee!! I got a few things around the mall. I went to Sephora and got a couple things, Ray had fun dressing me up at H&M and made me get a really cute hat :) and went to Lush to get 3 bath ballistics! And because they didn't have any t-shirts his size at LOTR (he was so bummed) we went to the Disney store and I picked him up a really cool t-shirt of a sketch of Jack Skellington and his little doggie (I forget his name). He loved it!! Wore it yesterday. :)
Yesterday we slept in (till 12:30 lol) and then decided to head out into the world before my head exploded. Went over to Nana's for a nice dinner of pasta, meatballs, her special sauce, roast beef, salad...yeah, classic Nana dinner. And she plied Ray with banana loaf which he took with not much convincing. :) We went for a drive too down to the falls, it was a gorgeous night and the moon was just almost full and the streets were still packed! It never ceases to amaze me how many tourists that the Falls get.
Anyway, back at work today and at least it's Tuesday, boss is away, get to listen to music while I try to work, and I've got leftovers that don't need reheating, so that's good :) I do have to clean up at home tonight though, not looking forward to that but it needs to be done.
Now, just counting the days till I get to meet Billy! ;D ....it's 24 btw. XD
