A long time ago, when I was still a little girl.. We had a gumball
machine. This really was a long time ago, before my mom and papa split
apart, and long before I realized that this world is not always kind.
When we moved from Elmwood St., to Hazelton Ct., my second home.. it
was rough. I didn't want to leave my home. I didn't want to move away
from my grandma, my papa, or my memories. We took the gumball machine
with us, but it was quickly shoved into the basement with so many other
things. For about four years, it sat there.. just gathering up cobwebs.
Mom and I moved here after those four years, and we've lived here for a
little over a year, now...
Well, today, mom fixed the gumball machine and brought it downstairs.
It now stands proudly between my stairs and the door to my room. A
quarter is all it takes for a delicious little gumball. Go ahead, take
some.
