The Russel Crowe 'Robin Hood' sounded like a really terrible idea to me originally. It still does, frankly. But with Scott Grimes (from 'Band of Brothers') as Will Scarlet and Kevin Durand (Joshua in 'Dark Angel' and Gabriel in 'Legion') as Little John I'll go see it, even if it's as bad as 'Prince of Thieves'. For a start, Durand is playing Little John as an engineer who's smart (if not educated) rather than the usual strong idiot. Plus he's a dead ringer for one of my characters (Milt from Eberron, if anyone on here plays it), though Milt isn't anywhere near as tall. And I like Scott Grimes. But also, it kind of sounds fun. Like, they had loads of fun just shooting stuff with arrows and learning to horseride and things. And it's got Ridley Scott, which is an OK sign. So maybe it'll be like 'Master and Commander' crossed with 'Kingdom of Heaven'. Here's hoping. But then, I got all excited about 'The A-Team' and the trailer for that looks rubbish. *sigh*
