help!

does anyone in the Chicago area want a cat? my friend Katie [jimmybetamax] has to give up her cat "Princess." [Katie was young when she named her.] the cat is currently living with Katie's grandma, who doesn't want the responsibility anymore. Katie can't keep her here because we can't have pets in the dorms, and she can't send her home because her little sister is allergic. Katie tried giving her to a no-kill shelter, but since Princess is 10, they didn't want to take her in. Katie's grandma has threatened to put Princess down if Katie can't find her a home soon. the cat is black with white on her stomach and paws. she doesn't have any health problems, but is a little overweight. she just needs the special diet food. [it costs about the same as regular cat food.] if you want Princess, or know of anyone who does, please either respond here or to jimmybetamax. thank you.
