Oh, bollocks
I was carefully manoeuvring around the bollards the Electricity contractors have almost covered my driveway with (due to diligently digging up the road for heaven knows what reason) when, in a moment's inattention, I managed to clip our small brick wall and scrape the car's paintwork. Badly. I'm talking about minimum £1500 worth of repair work if it's to be fixed properly by the Honda peeps.
This means claiming on the insurance, losing the excess and watching in open-mouthed wonder as the premiums go through the roof. And I only have myself to blame. Hubby forgave fairly quickly but I'm still kicking myself. *sigh*
To cheer myself up, I re-read some recent fave fic and thought I might as well share with you. They're all SPN as that's my current fave squeeze.
We got some work to do now by atimi
SPN/Scooby Doo crossover; rated NC-17; a multitude of pairings (but no bestiality). Some casual drug use.
They don't come much crackier. *g*

Starstruck by pandarus
a J2 movie AU based on 'Notting Hill', featuring misunderstandings, secrets, lies, twists, turns, comic books, Japanese-Ethiopian fusion cuisine, a lesbian wedding, several fabulous movies that really should exist, heartache, tequila, some exceptionally awful blind dates, hot boy-on-boy sex, and true love. All told in 42,000 words.
The hurt is hurty, the comfort is aww-worthy, and the writing is pretty much perfect. I love this to tiny bits.
Anyone else watching Glee? OMG, but I love it. Proof positive that it's possible to deal with real, serious issues in a fun, musical way. Matthew Morrison is simply stunning, Chris Colfer is touching and dignified in his role as a high school student dealing with being bullied because he doesn't fit in with the 'normal' parameters, and the entire cast is stellar. Love it.
