More pimpety -tagging and tracking advice

Jun 08, 2008 13:22

I'm being a bit spammy, but snowpuppies's post about how to track and tag and the advisability thereof is too good to pass up. Really, tag everything, especially if you're writing a WIP. It's so easy for people who can't be online every day to miss updates, then lose interest. If you want to keep your readers, want to maximise comments, tag. If you want to keep up with a particular user and their meta or fic or rl posts, track is the way to go. If you don't like most of someone's posts but love a particular WIP or conversation thread, don't friend but track. Doesn't work if they flock everything, of course, but most people don't. Worth trying.

Seriously, LJ is far from perfect but the tag and track features are right up there with 'Edit Comment'. *g*
