Well I just turned 23 on Monday. Oh joy. I had to work on my birthday and the business week itself blew. But this weekend was wonderful. There's a stand up comedy club here that gives you free admission for yourself and 9 other people for your birthday. You can go up to two weeks after your birthday. They do that I guess because they only have shows on weekends. I managed to get six people to go with me. It wound up being myself, my neighbor (Buddha), Krispy, Megan, Reuben, Andrea (a girl I met at work), and Jen. Everyone had a great time, and I think it was everyone's first time at a place like that. My neighbor Buddah is one of those exceptionally rare nice guys left in the world who has had his heart broken in such a cruel manner that it turned him into a recluse. He's also pretty shy about talking to other people. I've been trying to get him out of the house for months now. I have been trying to get him to open up. The problem is, the only person he's comfortable with is me...that is unless you get three long island iced teas and two dos equis beers down his throat in the period of two hours on an empty stomach. Then he won't shut the fuck up. But it was my evil plan to set him up with my girlfriend from work. Luckily, it worked. Heh. I be matchmaker. Oh dear god, that's scary. As Reuben says...they were making out in my backseat like horny teenagers. My windows were so fogged up. =)
Although it did make me a bit lonely, but I was much happier for them than I was lonely. I chose my situation. I knew what was going to happen. So I can only blame myself for that.
But anyhow...today was kinda lazy. Got to play with Jason online for awhile, which is always nice. And Megan works at the Olive Garden so she has been telling us to come for dinner one night. I figured since it was my "Non-aging non-birtday birthday weekend" that it was time to take her up on it. Oh my god, it was awesome. We probably ordered at least $60-$80 worth of food. Plus drinks, and the best gourmet coffee...and it was all free. YES!!!!!! I haven't eaten that good....ever...well it's been a few years at least. I did feel a bit bad though...having my friend wait on me was a bit awkward. I had a yummy chicken marsala plate with some minestrone and bread sticks...drool...I stuffed myself. And she gave us so many leftovers. The people at work will hate me tomorrow. Then we hung out there until she got off. We spent some time in the cafe smoking cigs and drinking more yummy coffee. I was so relaxed. It was good to feel that way again. It was a really nice weekend. It's nice to be able to post something pleasant instead of venting about something bad.
