Apologies in advance for lazy grammar and shopping-list feel of this post. Brain tired. Lazy.
Those essays I was doing earlier are done, new bits of work (Witches document exercise and Old English test) are being worked on. Fun.
New Coldplay single sounds like "Clocks II" but isn't bad. I like it, but it's not really breaking down any barriers, really.
Bloc Party's album is very good. My brother has discovered this fact so I get to hear it ALL THE TIME from his room. I don't mind that, I just hope that I don't start getting sick of the album because he's so obsessed with it.
Want new job. I need something else to structure my life other than just uni work, which just gets depressing after a while. Though I'm almost looking forward to some of the work I have to do later in the semester: I have 6 bits of work to do, and 3 are looking OK. This is a good thing. Bad thing: the other 3 are looking not so good. Gah.
Oh, also: dear hormonal teenage boy O.C. fans: girls kiss each other sometimes. Get over it. While you're at it, get over the show. Please. I just don't understand why it's so popular sometimes...
Also, while bitching about TV shows:
----------
Dear writers of CSI and its various incarnations,
Thank you for your Sherlock-y episode on Sunday night. It was nice to see your characters doing something more like detective work and less like "aimlessly wandering being glorified office clerks letting machinery do the thinking for them." Please keep this up. Feel free to ditch CSI: Miami. NY can stay for a bit but still not that great. I've only seen 1.5 episodes though (fell asleep during last night's) so maybe I'm not really the one to pass judgement. Don't even think about a new spinoff, I heard you were thinking of CSI: New Orleans or something like and nononononononononono don't even think about it. I'm up to my neck in crime shows... stop.
From Disgruntled.

Not my most eloquent piece of work, I must admit, but I hope the point comes across.
What happened to real storytelling? Is there anyone out there in TV land who is capable of writing a good drama that isn't crime related or aimed at a brainless teenage audience? Dead Like Me is a really good show, it's just frustrating that it's only on pay TV so I have nobody to chat with about it. Mason is kinda hot, except for the scene on Monday where he was in the Union Jack briefs for a bit. It was perhaps a little disturbing (though rest of him looked good to me).
I'm sorry if I sound a bit bitter in this post, I don't mean to. I'm just lost for things to say and fun, jazzy ways to say them. Maybe it's because I watched "Grumpy Old Men" (ABC, 8pm) last night and it's hilarious and I think it's rubbing off on me. Oh dear: I'm turning into a 35-54 year old British man. *sigh*. Kelvin will be disappointed. ;)
Should go and keep studying, especially for Old English test, which is tomorrow, and I'm really behind. Not good.
Axiom of the day: "A book is like a leg, only it doesn't bleed as much if you stab it."
Sheer words of wisdom, folks.
