Alphonse was sprawled out on the bed of his alcove, along with an open notebook that lie in front of him. He was chewing at the eraser end of his pencil, figuring out how to finish off the rest of his ( letter. )
Drifting back in from the campfire, Sakurazaki stops by to...um, knock?...at Alphonse's curtain. She was a little concerned, having not seen him at either gathering. True, she knew he wasn't particularly social, but these had taken place, like, two steps away from his alcove. And one of the last things exchanged between them was her freaking out. So she was worried.
"You'd think letters would be easier to write," Alphonse murmured, mostly to himself. He rolled over and sat up, scooting over to make more room on the bed in case she wanted to sit down. Small alcoves meant lack of chairs. "I'm all right, but I think I should be asking you the same."
Sakurazaki is quite content to lean lightly against the wall. She looks rather forlorn. "Is that what you've been doing? Writing letters? I thought maybe you'd come out to the campfire or...Pippi and I had our documentary showing tonight; did you not get a chance to see the flyer? Although did put them up just yesterday..."
"Ah, not all day," Alphonse closed the notebook beside him and set it aside, though he still continued to fiddle with the pencil between his fingers. The eraser had almost been entirely chewed off. "I'm sorry I missed out. I guess that's what I get for not leaving today, huh?"
Sakurazaki gives a faint attempt of a smile. "It..it's okay. I was...was just kind of hoping to see you there." She glances away for a moment as the colour starts to surface on her face. "I wanted to apologize for last night, losing myself like that and everything. I really don't know what had gotten into me. Not that I wanted you to come to the showing tonight so I could apologize, of course; that would have been inappropriate. It's just that....I mean...um..."
Shaking her head, she sighs. She thought she'd managed to resolve all of this that morning. Why was it all creeping away from her now. "I'm sorry. I'm not really quite sure what I mean. Except that I'm sorry for that. The spazzing out thing, not the showing thing."
"You don't need to apologize for that," Alphonse smiled. "We all have our off-days. And I'll try my best to show up at whatever you have planned next time." He began absentmindedly trying to balance the pencil on one finger; it was a nice little distraction. "No need to say sorry if something's bothering you."
"It isn't that something was bothering me that I'm apologizing." Her smile this time was genuine, a gentle sliding of the corner of her mouth as her eyes slid to the pencil. "It's how I handle it that I'm apologizing for. And I know you'll probably tell me next that it's okay because sometimes we just sort of get caught up in things, and I did, but I meditated on it this morning and apologizing to you is my way of finding a bit of closure on the whole thing."
The smile grows into a little chuckle. "You sound like Peter with that 'if you insist.' And you should know by now that I would. I accept your apology as well," Sakurazaki feigns an over-dignified lift of her chin. "Although, really, you're the one who ended up missing out on fascinating expose's of wee tiny bunny dancing and really cool weapons demonstrations so maybe you should be apologizing to yourself."
"Hey, I was around to witness the weetiny bunnies first hand," Alphonse pointed out lightly. "Weapon demonstrations sounds interesting, however. Aside from the snow monster invasion and our... previous demon problem," he tried to say that with a neutral tone, but it was still very obvious he was bitter about it. "I've haven't seen much when it comes to some people's abilities with weapons."
"Well, I have a copy for myself, so we can always watch it together sometime." The slight blush had returned, but only briefly. "That is, of course, if I'm able to figure out how to make a copy for Tim. Which is another thing you missed, might I add. Robot Tim. If I can't figure it out, though, I'm just going to give him my tape. It seems wrong if the only person with that footage wasn't him."
"It was for Pippi's hand fighting demonstration, you see..." It was impossible to explain without several urges to chuckle, all of which Sakurazaki masterfully hides behind her hand. "She was just explaining to me how robots are difficult because they don't mind being thrown when Tim came in, so we enhanced the demonstration by having him act as a robot and...You know, it's probably just best if you just see it."
"Sometimes Tim does the strangest things," Alphonse laughed. "Yeah, I'll definately have to see it! I can't believe I missed out on all this today. I need to stop having lazy days."
"Alphonse? You up?" she asks quietly
