Besides the fact that I have a ton of shit to do or that I was supposed to do this weekend, I've had a really great weekend. Last night was Betty's party where I drank a bit too fast, and left a bit early, but, hey, it was still a good time. Then we dragged our asses up to Amore's so some pizza. Somehow I made it home and passed out immediately. Sleep = amazing.
So today was just wonderful. Lizzyz and my dad came and brought me food! Meggy made me adorable cupcakes with different colored icing. (by the way Meggy, they are almost gone!). We drove around to look at the dorms, and it was so weird being in a car in the city. Then we went for brunch and did a little shopping and I was, of course, my normal anxiety-ridden self, and barely bought a thing. Shopping is usually not a pleasurable experience for me (wayyy unlike Lizzyz). I can't get relaxed and usually end up having a panic attack in the middle of the store and then running out with little or no purchases.
But it was a really beautiful warm, but cold day. And the sun was out. Soooo nice. We walked around some of my favorite places in the West Village. I think that is my favorite part of the city - it's like nothing else here. The streets curve and slide into each other and it's just peaceful and perfect and really beautiful.
They only stayed for literally 3 hours and I felt bad booting them out so early, but I have so much shit going on right now. As soon as they left, I felt bad and wanted them back. I spent the rest of the afternoon dabbling in homework.
At 6 or so, I met Gary, Amy, and Pat at Amores (2nd time in less than 24 hours...hmmm). I love when people come to visit; you actually go out and DO STUFF. I feel like sometimes I only remember I live in New York when other people come here and remind me how great it can be. Then we headed back to my room and Pat serenaded us. Now they are walking down to BAttery Park and I wish I could have joined, but I still have a good 6 hours of work left for tongiht...
This week might kill me. It has already started too, but I'm so happy I had a good weekend. Tomorrow night is GAry's volleyball game - the first one in New York that he has allowed me to attend...bastard. I'm excited though. Amy's never even seen him play and here I am this big dorky superfan yelling "SIDEOUT!!!!" at all the wrong times.
This entry has procrastination written all over it as I just recapped my weekend in full detail.
My mom's coming to pick me up on Thursday. No MArtz bus ride and going home are the most amazing things in the world right now.
