Summary: Yunho is a brilliant lawyer, but has lost many of his memories due to an accident three years ago. One day, he goes to a client's house for dinner, where his life will once again be changed forever...
one two three Yunho stood there, frozen. What is the etiquette when you see your half naked client with his naked boyfriend and his boyfriends’ hot and cold cousin - who is fully dressed- all in one room?
“I should go and come back later.” Yunho pointed towards the door as he tried hard not to smirk at the sight of Junsu’s blushing butt cheeks. Possibly too embarrassed, or possibly noticing Yunho’s gaze, Yoochun quickly agreed, and closed the door after his lawyer.
“For Christ’s sake Junsu, get dressed!” Yoochun half yelled, half cried at his almost shaking boyfriend, who quickly ran to the bedroom.
“You didn’t have to be so mean.” Muttered Jaejoong, looking sideways at Yoochun.
“How is Yunho ever going to take me seriously ever again!” Yoochun held his head in his hands, while Jaejoong stood there awkwardly, not knowing what to do. “I mean, he probably thinks we were having a threesome!” Jaejoong head snapped up at that, and without really thinking, he grabbed his coat and ran out of the house. Yoochun just stared at the door for a few seconds, then jogged to his bedroom to comfort Junsu.
Jaejoong ran out just in time to see Yunho’s sleek car driving away up the road. Checking his watch, Jaejoong assumed he was on his way back to work and decided to follow. He had to clear this mess up.
It took hims twenty minutes to get to Jung&Choi, and Jaejoong ran up the stairs instead of using the lift, taking them two at a time. By the time he reached Yunhos’ floor, he was out of breath and shaking slighting. He ran to a receptionist desk, panting, and asked
“Where’s Jung Yunho?”
“Um, in the room over there, the board room but you can-”
Jaejoong didn’t bother waiting for her to finish and ran into the room she pointed at. As soon as he entered he yelled
“Yunho, I wasn’t in a threesome with Yoochun and Junsu, I promise!” Jaejoong looked at Yunho’s shocked face, then looked to the rest of the room. At least eight other lawyers, including Choi Dongwook, all gawking at him, in shock. Jaejoong wondered if there was a gun anywhere near, he couldn’t see how he could ever be more embarrassed.
“That’s nice Jaejoong…” Yunho was looking at him with an eyebrow raised and a look on his face somewhere between laughter and horror.
Without saying a word, Jaejoong left the room, trying not to cry. He was shown by the receptionist to Yunho’s office, and Jaejoong collapsed on the sofa and hid his face in his hands.
Several minutes later, Yunho came into the room, looking at Jaejoong flopped on his sofa. Yunho wasn’t sure if the small man was crying - somehow he thought not. The man who saved his arse didn’t seem like the type to cry over an embarrassment.
He cleared his throat loudly, and Jaejoong looked up, humiliated. However, when he saw the laugh truing to escape from Yunho’s mouth, his expression hardened and he stood up in defense.
“Look, Yunho, I just wanted to tell you not to misunderstand. That’s all. Excuse me please.” Jaejoong stood up and made to leave, but Yunho’s arm suddenly blocked him. Jaejoong looked at him, an annoyed expression in his face.
“Don’t make me break your arm. Move.”
“No. Tell me Jaejoong, why did you feel the need to run all the way over here to tell me that you didn’t have a threesome I never even suspected you of having?”
“Yoochun made me paranoid.” Muttered Jaejoong, not meeting Yunho’s eyes.
“Ah. I see.” Yunho checked his watch. It was almost nine. How had it gotten so late? Yunho had hardly eaten all day. He wondered if Jaejoong was too.
“Jaejoong. Are you hungry?”
“Why?”
“Because I thought I’d invite you to dinner then eat delicious food in front of you without offering you any, why’d you think?”
Jaejoong looked stubbornly at him before saying “Do you like Italian?”
Yunho smirked, and led Jaejoong to his car.
“Chunnie! Chunnie, where’s Jae gone?” Junsu was finally dressed, wondering throughout the house, toweling his wet hair dry. He went through to the study, where yoochun was on the phone, angrily shouting “Look, Sunni, I don’t give a fuck that you still miss me, just sign the divorce paper! No, don’t put her on the phone, no no, oh, hi, Umma…”
Junsu smiled. Yoochun’s mother - in - law adored him, and insisted on him calling her umma and always tried to guilt trip him into staying with her daughter. Yoochun felt bad saying no to her - Junsu knew that his boyfriend loved that woman more then his own mother.
He heard Yoochun hang up the phone and decided to move away. Whenever he spoke to his wife Yoochun would be in a foul mood until Junsu cheered him up. However, this time, Junsu simply couldn’t be arsed. He was too concerned about his cousin to spend his time cheering his boyfriend up. Aish! Why couldn’t he have gone out with that hot Filipino boy in London instead of Yoochun? Right now he would be sitting - no, lying on a glorious beach with an even more glorious man on top of him… but, for some reason, in his dream, that stunning face was not the Filipino he had met, it was Yoochuns’. Cheesy or what?
“Susu, I need a hug.” Junsu turned around to see a dejected Yoochun looking at him like a sad teddy bear.
“Come here.” Junsu opened his arms and enveloped his boyfriend. Hmmm. Maybe he made the right choice in London…
“Yunho, thank you again, this was so kind of you!”
“Jaejoong, we’ve been at this resturant for over an hour and you’ve already thanked me eight times!”
“It’s just, no one ever takes me out anymore. These profiteroles are delicious.”
“Don’t change the subject, Jae. Do you mind me calling you Jae?”
“No.” Jaejoong mumbled, looking down at his desert. Yunho was looking unbelievably sexy in the candlelight radiating from the table. His darks eyes glinted, and Jaejoong had resist the urge to grope the other.
“Can we have our bill, please?” Huh? What? Jaejoong looked up. Yunho was already looking over a leather booklet, reaching for his wallet. When did that happen? Jaejoong wolfed down the remainder of his dessert, unaware of Yunho’s gaze watching him.
“Finished?” Yunho asked with a playful smile on his lips.
“Yes, thank you. Where too now?”
“A walk?”
“You brought your car.”
“I knew that. I’ll drive you home.”
“Fine.”
“Fine.”
They both stood up, and the waiters rushed over with their coats, and bowed as they left, wishing them a good evening.”
They walked quickly in the cold night air to Yunho’s car, and Jaejoong was shocked when Yunho opened the door for him, then closed it after he slipped inside. They sat in silence on the drive to Jaejoong’s place, but Jaejoong kept stealing glances at the driver, who continued to look at the road. Before he knew it, they were parked outside Jaejoong’s complex.
“Er, do you want to come in for coffee?” Jaejoong asked awkwardly.
“Is this a date?”
“No, no ,no, of course it’s no-” Jaejoong glanced at Yunho and saw the man trying not to laugh. “I just thought that I would offer.”
“Alright.” Jaejoong was a little shocked by the acceptance, but led Yunho up to his flat nonetheless.
The first time he had been at Jaejoong’s apartment, Yunho hadn’t really looked around. Now he was there again, Yunho took the opportunity to look around. Jaejoong had several pictures on the wall, and Yunho leant in to look at them while Jaejoong made coffee.
Most of the pictures were either a very young Jaejoong with silky black shoulder length hair or the present Jaejoong with shorter dark drown hair, with more stylish clothes. Yunho could tell that at least three years worth of pictures were gone - in these, Jaejoong was either a school boy or an adult, nothing in between.
“How come you don’t have any pictures in collage?”
“Huh?” For some reason Jaejoong looked nervous as Yunho turned to look at him, and waited for the answer.
“Oh, I put on a few pounds during collage and I don’t want to remember how fat I looked.”
Yunho smirked, trying to imagine Jaejoong overweight. It was cute. Jaejoong noticed him smiling and coughed loudly.
“Coffee’s ready.”
“Right.”
They both sat down on Jaejoongs’ sofa, sipping their drinks. Yunho saw that Jaejoong kept stealing glances at him. Yunho decided to break the silence and asked Jaejoong some questions. He found it easy to talk to the young man - Jaejoong was friendly and opened up to him after a while. Before they knew it, it was two am.
“I’d better go, Jae. Thanks for the coffee. Jaejoong?” Yunho looked at Jaejoong, who was staring at him with, hungry look in his eyes. “Jaejoong?” Yunho didn’t like the look in the others eyes, but soon Jaejoong snapped out of his trance and said goodbye. That boy was definitely weird.
“Yunho oppa, you have a meeting with Mr Park and Mr Kim.”
“Thank you Boa, send them in.”
It had been four days since his dinner with Jaejoong and the two had not spoken since. Yunho was confused by the brunette. Sometimes he was a bundle of laughs, but other times he was distant and unattached. And what confused Yunho the most was how he was drawn to Jaejoong. He didn’t like it.
“Yunho! Thank you so much for seeing us.”
“Not at all, sit down, both of you. How can I help you?” Yunho saw that Junsu looked uncomfortable.
“I - we both need a restraining order from my wife.”
“Both of you?”
“Well, mainly Junsu, but I wouldn’t mind one either. She’s constantly coming to our house, she’s always following Junsu to work and the other day she threw an egg at him.”
“God! I’ll get those restraining orders right away for you then.”
“So, um, Jaejoong mentioned that yo too went to dinner?” Yunho looked up to see Junsu smiling nervously at him.
“Er yes. Oh I forgot, you’re cousins, aren’t you?” Damn that Jaejoong, now this would be awkward!
“Yeah.” Junsu looked happy, Yunho couldn’t work out why. “You two used to be so cute, I-”
“Junsu, we should go.” Yoochun interrupted loudly.
“What do you mean we used to be so cute?”
“Nothing, nothing!” Yunho could see from Junsu’s face he was lying. Then something clicked in his head.
“Did I know Jaejoong a few years ago?”
“Do you mean before your memory loss?” Yunho’s head jerked up at that.
“How did you know I lost my memory?” Yunho had always been careful not to tell clients of his loss.
“Well, um, I guessed, ‘cos you didn’t recognize Jaejoong…”
“I didn’t recognize him? We were friends?” Then Yunho realized what Junsu had said before. Cute? Friends don’t look ‘cute’! When he had first met Jaejoong, Jaejoong cried at the sight of him. He ran away, then took him, a complete stranger, to his house. Then there was the expression on Jaejoong’s face when Yunho took him to dinner.
Without a word, Yunho jumped up and ran out the door.
“Nice one, Junsu. Now we’ll never get a restraining order!”
“Jaejoong! Jaejoong-ah!!” Yunho was knocking loudly on Jaejoong’s door.
“What on earth?” Yunho nearly fell through as the door swung open, a confused and slightly pissed looking Jaejoong in the doorway. “Yunho! What are you doing here?”
“Did we use to know each other?”
“Excuse me, Yun-”
“Answer me!”
“Yes yes yes! We used to be really really close!”
Yunho sighed desperately, leaning against the doorframe.
“Look, why don’t you come in.”
The two sat down, Yunho feeling extremely uncomfortable sitting that close to Jaejoong - what had their relationship been three years ago?”
“so, what do you want to know?”
“I guess...How did we meet?”
“High school.”
“I see. Why didn’t you tell me when we first met?”
“Oh yeah, that’s a good conversation starter - ‘hey Yunho, do you remember me, we used to date three years ago, then you disappeared”
“We used to date…”
