proud front row groupie
kittko i went to a sophie hunger concert yesterday. it was amazing. like, really amazing. she makes me SO incredibly proud that we FINALLY have such a talented yet down-to-earth swiss musician. plus, she's amazing to just... stare at. how passionate she sings. and, at one point yesterday she nearly cried because she couldn't believe it that she was actually giving a concert in a club she used to watch other concerts of , you know, bigger acts. and now, she's there. and she's actually playing a nearly sold out tour in switzerland right now.
she also mentioned that she reached #1 at the swiss album charts with her new record yesterday morning. AGAIN. after her previous one got platin. she said, it makes her so happy because at this time, they haven't spend a singe dollar on marketing and promoting (they don't even have tour posters! but, on the other hand, they also don't have t-shirts... insert sad-faced
kittko here) plus radio stations rarely play her.
hey sophie, did i mention that i love you?
the absolutely best moment of the show was the very last song. god knows, they played like 34928743942749 encores (the audience wouldn't let them go away, lol) but on the very last one, the band took their instruments (or, parts of it --> drummer) and sat down on the front of the stage and sang an acappella version of this song. without any micros. it was A-MA-ZING! i definitly didn't know that 2000 people can be so damn quiet! you could have literally heard an iphone vibrate! everyone was just silent and listening. just listening.
thank you sophie, for such an awesome night. looking forward to see you again.
ps: i think NO ONE of you has heard of her before, so, please give her a try:
