It’s snowing, but not in the “winter-wonderland” way, in the way that says “fuck you, Michiganders, spring will never arrive.” Apparently this weekend it’s supposed to reach 60 this weekend, which means I get to drag people to the beach!
My weekend was enjoyable, filled with much car drama. My Saturn is missing a chunk of the front due to an accident my sister was in earlier this week (not her fault this time!) It’s new name is Mintynator, as it looks like something from the Terminator movies. On Saturday, someone attempted to break into my dad’s SUV while at my financial aid meeting in Detroit. The alarm probably scared them off before they took the DVD player, but we’re going to need a new window...
At the financial aid meeting, I learned that I’m going to graduate med school with around $120,000 in debt. Not a big surprise, but not awesome either.
I spent some time at the bar with Kevin’s future sister-in-law and his cousin’s future wife - both young girls (22 and 24) getting married this summer. I realized that not only am I never going to have time to get married in the next 6 years, I also won’t have the funds to do so (at least, the wedding I’d want to have). This makes me sad… After spending so much time watching wedding shows on TV, I had some really great ideas! I picked out my photographer when I was in high school after watching a Martha Stewart wedding special! Damn you, expensive education!
Also, I’m spending $200 I don’t have to take riding lessons for the rest of the semester. This is the last free time I’ll have for the next 6,7,8 (?) years, so I’m going to take advantage of it and get back in the saddle before I regress too much.
