Sweet LiveJournalists,
What's new in our society?
The sick Pope John Paul #2 has passed away... it's sad i must admit, but how could anyone that doesnt know the poor man really care and cry their heartfelt sorrows away? It's gotten to the point where people crossed themselves as they walked alongside a red, waist-high barrier set up about 10 feet from the body and also outside, tens of thousands are lining up for their chance to view the body! No disrespect, but this dead guy has become a flipping tourist attraction. Lastly if anyone's interested in attending his funeral, it's this friday at 10pm.
If anyone thought that people in Cambodia lack food, electricity and clean water, then you are kinda correct. However, the brow raiser is that their one room schools are able to afford small laptops for the students to take home and play some computer games during those dark evenings. These laptops literally light up their homes. Talk about wise spending. Instead of taking a shower with clean water, children in Cambodia would rather chat with the rest of their malnourished, stinky friends.
Weather has been crazy all over the world. Floodings, tsunamis, blizzards, you name it, but not here in sweet Windsor. This Rose City smells amazingly with the vehicle pollutants in the sky, but at least we're fortunate enough to have mild temps and sunny skies. Despite our wonderful weather lately, it will come to an end when April showers roll in- predicted to arrive on thursdays.
Whats new in sports? I couldnt tell you. I hate watching sports or hearing about it. I just dont think that knowing about the 3 homeruns made by the Tigers is all that important or that Roger Powell had a big night to get the Illini to the finals. I mean LADIDA, who cares. I know i dont. In fact, i hate sports, because i'm poo at every sport invented.
Lately in entertainment, a remarkable amount of TV news star power has dimmed over the past eight months: Barbara Walters, Tom Brokaw, Dan Rather and, just last week, Ted Koppel. WHATS HAPPENING? i shoudnt say anything else
To make the world an even more interesting place to live in, now parents are complaining about seeing traces of red ink on their children's homework/test/whatever. Apparantly "it's too stressful!" said the overfed student's mother. Due to this idiotic objection, some schools are changing the 'marking' utensil colour- anything but red. "It's abrasive to me. Purple is just a little bit more gentle. Part of my job is to be attuned to what kids respond to, and red is not one of those colors." Explained a lesbian teacher.
That's about it. One advise for today is - Dance away obesity!
Ugh i'm losing my fire.
Love Always and J.K. Livin,
K-Town
