Apple I have nothing but hate for you right now
So years ago my dad and Bert put money together and each paid half of my ipod. It was a Christmas gift.
I think I got it back in 2008, but it could be 2007 too. The year the touch got out.
I had little grief getting stuff on an on the ipod.
I discovered it could be charged using the old charger for Bert's ipod (which is a lot older than mine) so I mainly used that.
No issue there.
Now yesterday Bert got me the two last Abney Park cds.
So today I figured: he let's update the old ipod!
Take some stuff off, put some new stuff on.
It started with apple going: you must update the itunes.
So fine, I get the latest version of ituns and quicktime.
(not the rest of the bullshit of course)
And what happens: a fat fucking NOTHING.
Synchronising is no longer an option.
I'm guessing at this point that this is the umptieth program refusing to be compatible with trusty Windows XP (which is now regarded as a dinosaur operating system even though it is VASTLY superiour to the bucket of utter SHITE that is Vista and the new and sliglty less shitty than vista Windows 7) unless I install the dreaded service pack 2. Which I am not fucking ever going to do.
If at this point someone feels the need to hold a promo talk in favor of service pack 2, 3 or whatever shitfaced number and/or vista I strongly advice you to NOT go there.
So what, trusty reader, did I resort to?
I of course did what I always do: dig out the netbook, which runs on 7 (because there is just no fucking way I'd ever get something running on fucking vista) and installed itunes on there. Of course, it made me click a download button more times than necessary, because obviously apple just LOVES to make people click things. And then it took FOR FUCKING EVER!
Not a chance in hell I am EVER getting another apple device in my life, it's just way too much hassle.
