Yesterday Bert and I went to see
XMAS, short for X Made Alcoholic Santaclaus, at La Legia, in Liège for
BCM.
I was going to interview the band, and we were both going to take photos to go with said interview, a cheki give-away and a concert report.
And of course, much more happened than just a concert :)
Bert and I got there half an hour early, right in the middle of the soundcheck of the band.
So we watched them soundcheck and talked to friends that were on the HIGHFeeL crew or organising the live until it was time for the interview. Shota was kind enough to translate, which was good because my Japanese is worthless :(
He also took that sneak photo.
As you can tell from my fake leather jacket, autumn has arrived in Belgium. They say it'll get warmer for the weekend, but I'll believe it when I feel it. At least it was still nice enough weather to sit outside :)
And mess around with my Action Sampler, but the light was fail :(
After the interview I took some cheki for BCM, the band signed one (the one we're giving away) and signed a page in my notebook as a message to go with the interview. Then we went in search for food, with David, Kristel and Antoine. Luckily Kristel is from Liège, else we'd probably amble around aimlessly for food (I supposed we'd have stumbled upon it anyway as it was sort of around the corner).
Bert and I ended up getting fries, like Antoine, Kristel and David, because the meat sandwich place that the guys went to for dinner wasn't something that seemed very appetising.
It took FOREVER to get our fries, and they were super small portions too. I think the woman owning the chip shop (it was one of those street stand ones) didn't much enjoy her job. They were pretty expensive too: € 3,30 for a tiny one with sauce XD But at least they were good.
During the interview Charlie had shown me his Iron Man tattoo, and I asked him to show it to Bert. Turned out he also had a Mickey Mouse, TMNT and hidden Mickey tattoo. Because my friend Dan is a huge TMNT fan, I asked Charlie if I could photograph his tattoo and he was totally cool with that :)
Everyone gathered back together we went back to the boat (yes, La Legia is a concert/recording studio boat) and ate our food on deck. And fed Shota, who was giving his best impression of a cat at dinnertime. By feeding obviously I mean "give him left overs" :)
Shota was taking merchandise cheki, so I snuck in and took some photos to go with the interview :)
I'm not going to publish the group shots online 'till BCM is out, but there's always this:
Photo of the day: 6.9.2015 (day 249)
Support act Noisy Pride:
HIGHFeeL people ^^
Merch:
Aurélie announcing XMAS and the German street team (they went to every concert on the tour but one, kudos!)
And some live shots:
XMAS was really awesome life, very enjoyable. I'm not going to say much about it here, because I'm saving the proper review of both their concert and their CD Nouveau Départ for the next edition of BCM, but it was a really good gig and a great evening :)
It's definitely a band I'd like to see live again :)
Selfie Aurélie took of the both of us :)
There was a poster of Die Anarchistische Abentunterhaltung (DAAU) on the boat. This made me very happy, because I love DAAU and used to see them live LOADS back in the late 1990s. I miss going to DAAU lives (and to the lives of some other Belgian bands too).
Before we left after the live, one of the German girls gave everyone a Christmas cookie, it was really good!
And super nice of her to share! :)
Anyhow, I took some more photos than there are in this post, you can see those
here.
And Bert took tons of really good photos, which will be used in the next edition of
BCM, so make sure to check that out first week of October! :)
