Dearest Livejournal,

Please stop being such an incredible dickhead. It wasn't funny when you first went down when I was in the midst of replying to comments, nor is it funny that you will only load when I'm nowhere near a wifi connection and am therefore using data. Please look at your life, look at your choices, and get your metaphorical head out ( Read more... )

YES, WE TOTALLY WERE! Both of us and Dana, in fact. As such, I am going to take LJ going down when it did as a personal slight against us.

Haha, I know what you mean. I didn't even try my desktop because it'd just feel weird to read on there. Plus I had my game up in a tab and therefore wouldn't be able to switch to the Mac side . . . But yeah, I could load LJ on my phone, which is exactly where I want to reply to comments from!

It also would load on my work computer sometimes but one, I wouldn't feel entirely comfortable extreme-surfing LJ at work, and two, that computer is old as sin so I don't think it'd be up for it anyway. At least everything seems to be somewhat back up now, hurrah!

That makes so much sense when you put it like that. But why would the forces of the blogging world be against us? D:

I use my desktop as a TV when I'm not gaming because the screen is so big. If I reply to comments or read Lj on it, I have to scoot my chair up close, otherwise the pics get lost in the screen. And I can't load legacies on my phone, because it doesn't want to load all the pictures. :P

/Radcliff's face. ♥

You have a desk job too?? You must be working constantly. Good on you. XD I remember livejournal ten years ago, when posting pictures was taboo because of computers back then and load times. My, how the world has changed.

It's a conspiracy, clearly. THERE MUST BE A DEEPER MEANING. (And now I want to rewatch the conspiracy theory episode of Community. Would that we didn't get a new PVR, thus deleting everything. ;_;)

You have an iPhone too, right? Mine didn't used to load all the pictures, and then a couple of weeks it just . . . started to. idk idk. I still don't like to use it for reading legacies because I find it a pain to comment on them from that.

Love him! ♥

I do! It's only 6-7 hours per day, and I'm generally only serving about two nights a week right now, but I keep my weekends free. It's not so bad; I like to be busy. Oh, the old LJ days. I think I was primarily using the now-defunct GreatestJournal then because it had so much more space and unlimited user pics and stuff. Good times. But yeah, my dad has an old, late-eighties computer, and it has a whole TWO MB of hard drive space. Crazy, right?

Oh noes! We had to get a new DVR recently, and now I can't finish the last season of House or Glee or Lie to Me, which were the only three shows I was watching pretty regularly. *sad days* I should check Hulu+ to see if they're there.

I have a 3GS. I check occasionally, but no, it doesn't want to load pictures. And it's frustrating to read legacies on there. The first time I came across your legacy last year, I was reading on my iPhone but I couldn't click your links to see your references, so that's one example on why it's too frustrating to read legacies on a phone.

Me too, I'm excited to see him on Broadway. ♥

I used to like being busy, but not so much anymore. I remember GreatestJournal, DeadJournal, InsaneJournal, etc. Now I feel like Livejournal is going into defunct territory, which would be tragic. It's also why made a backup of all my LJ accounts on my harddrive yesterday. Which I couldn't have done if I had two MB of space. How does he live?? XD

I hate that. I've watched shows online before (like Misfits, because it airs in the UK in November, but not here until July so eff that noise) but I much, much prefer them on the HD big screen. And I tend to keep full seasons of things until the DVDs come out too. My boyfriend is so tired of the zombie and Dungeons & Dragons episodes of Community, you have no idea. But yes, I hope you're able to finish all your seasons of shows so you can feel complete! ;D

I have a 3GS as well. It's really weird, it never used to load pictures until a couple of months ago. Maybe there was a software update that just clicked with mine? idk. I hate reading anything with links on my phone though; I usually have countless tabs open on my computer and it doesn't quite work as well on the phone.

Are you going to see How to Succeed? That'd be amazing!

Yes, DeadJournal! That was the first one I had when I was about 12 or 13. I don't think LJ is ever going to disappear; it's too huge now. I do hope that they fix the many issues they've been having since the Russian takeover. (That sounds politically hostile, lol!) That's a good idea to back everything up, I should look into that. Oh, and he doesn't actually use that computer anymore! Now he has about five external hard drives each with 1 TB or so of space plus all his computers' own hard drives. It's kind of insane.

This is why I love my Roku, because all I need is a wireless connection and I can watch Netflix, Hulu+, and Amazon on my TV. It doesn't help my media addiction though.

You were right, I updated my iPhone and now I can get all the pictures. It's nice to check messages on the go, and when my internet went down this weekend, it was nice to keep up with the net. But then I come back to my media addiction. XD

I am!! We're both really excited about it, and now that we've finally seen HP72, we're even more excited.

I used LJ Archive to backup my journals. I hope it LJ doesn't come crashing down on us, but we'll probably have problems for as long as Russia's political environment remains so volatile. :P

I'm finally replying to (some) really old comments (this is so embarrassing, haha), but I wanted to reply to this one because I need to ask you: How was How To Succeed? I leave for New York in a week and we have tickets for How To Succeed next Sunday! I'm so excited!

LOL! I was thinking about bumping some of our old threads too, so no harm no foul. ;) I was curious about your NYC trip coming up so I'm glad you brought out the topic. How to Succeed was a-ma-zing. I'm so glad you decided to go see it. We saw that and Wicked, and my hubby and I both enjoyed How to Succeed so much more. There's something about an old school musical that is simply magical.

We got a good picture of Daniel Radcliffe's chin (he was wearing a smashing wide-brimmed hat) after the show, but didn't get an autograph or anything. There was this one fan that was being an absolute bitch to everyone that almost ruined the experience for me, but I guess there's one in every group. She was yelling at everyone to let her through because she came so far and deserved to see him, and was blaming all the people in front of her for coming between her and Radcliffe, and it was generally unpleasant just to listen to. =/ Also, Dan and his bodyguard high-tailed it out of there because of her, and that was a bummer. I really hate people like that, idk. Sorry for going off, I guess I'm a little bitter. XD

BUT I don't want my bad experience to trump my good experience - the musical was flawless. I'm still quoting/singing from it and I can't wait for you to watch it so that we can fangirl together. ♥

I have more that I meant to reply to but . . . haven't. YET.

I really enjoyed How to Succeed. You're right, it just seemed so classic and so fun! We also saw Billy Elliott (good), Spiderman (so much fun!), and War Horse (FREAKING AMAZING), so I'd say we did pretty well. XD

You know, I think DanRad's been wearing some sort of hat in almost every picture I've seen of him after the show. He had a ballcap on when I saw him, meaning that my best picture of him only has one of his eyes visible. BUT I'LL TAKE IT. I'm sorry to hear that you had to deal with such a bitch, that really sucks. I'd be super-bitter too! I had pretty much the exact opposite experience: there were two girls right by me who lived in NY and were assuring me that "[they'd] get [me] that autograph, not to worry." He was only out there for five, maybe ten minutes as was, but our crowd was pretty respectful. Except for one girl who was climbing all over the barriers trying to get her DH book signed and I was terrified that she'd fall and he'd leave before he got to where I was standing. (According to the two girls by me, he doesn't sign Harry Potter stuff at the stage door.) I know, I know, first world problems.

YES, LET'S FANGIRL OVER IT TOGETHER! I wish I could watch it again - it was just so cheery and happy! I think I may need to download the soundtrack right now . . . brb! ;D

At the rate we're going, we'll take over the entire internet and we'll be able to write a NaNo novel with our forum posts alone.

I would have liked to see Billy Elliot, but there's only so much one can fit in five days. The rock concert was a highlight for me, but I know I'll probably be talking about How to Succeed longer. Did you read the novel before you went to see War Horse? I read the back cover at the store I used to work at, and it looked like a serious tear-jerker.

That's good he doesn't sign HP stuff at the door, though I figured he wouldn't. If he did, that'd cause all kinds of problems for the theatre. Not to mention everyone that owns any part of HP would not appreciate that. Ah, Hollywood business. I'm really happy you had such a nice experience. It really makes up for my poor one. Still, seeing Daniel live makes up for everything ever.

I downloaded the soundtrack immediately too. Best way to relive the times. ♥
