Forty Forth Post - Gatlinburg

i wanted to write yesterday but the internet here is so that my parents are practically peering over my shoulder. we’re in Gatlinburg right now. but yesterday.. we got to go gold digging! Which was actually fun.. even though i didn’t find that much gold.. it was fun to learn the technique. he’s the guy who taught us:

he’s quite a character... and has like so much gold. lol. i actually only found one granule.. the rest of it was found by him.. evidently.. i’m not that patient. my dad found a little more than my stuff. but you can go there with your own machines and camp there.. there was a dad and two kid who spent a month there digging in the creek. and they dug 18 feet down to the water table or sheet rock or whatever where all the gold sits because it’s denser than everything else. and they got a lot of gold that way. i think that would be really fun..to take a month to go dig gold. then we took a scenic drive. which was really nice.. the air here is so clean compared to columbus ohio.. here’s me enjoying the air.. from the back seat of course.. with a shrivled arm.. like that rose red girl.

I really like the kudzu.. that covered the trees it’s really pretty actually even though people consider it a pest. but i don’t like the spider-web clumps in the trees.

Oh and Mitchel, here is your souvenirs:

Mount Mitchell is the highest point east of the Mississippi. it was foggy that day..lol.
and i got you something real too. but have yet to find the salt water taffy. today, we are in Gatlinburg. we just walked the main strip today. and played Circus Gold.. which was really fun.. i liked it a lot.. pictures to come. vacation still sucks though.. my mom HAS to see the magic show.. which will be cool i guess. i hope there’s bunnies.
