The French always bring the lulz. Quick (French/Belgian equivalent of McDonald's) is accused of "subordinating the supply of a good, the hamburger, to belonging or not belonging to a particular religion". Why? Because they are planning to serve only Halal burgers in a few branches. Wtf, people, it's not like it changes the taste.

It's a burger where the meat has been slaughtered and prepared following Halal procedures.

So, like kosher (but different standards obviously)?

Yep! Very much like Kosher. (Though Kosher is also acceptable for Muslims to eat.)

Haha, I figured as much!

It's actually a bit more complicated. Halal just means "permitted" which is TONS of stuff. Like the ONLY meat NOT permitted (other than pork) would be like if an animal is slaughtered specifically in the name of like the Devil or "Corporate Earnings" or something. If it's just slaughtered normally like normal? It's permissible!

BUT yeah! More info than needed.
