I get out the take home container of my half eaten burger and fries from the day before. It is to be my lunch. I walk away for a moment only to come back and find him eating it. Standing there, right at the kitchen counter. Right there in front of me. Peeling the bun off and dropping it back in the container. And eating my onion ring and bacon

It can get so easy to fall into patterns in relationships that aren't always the best for either one of you. I'm glad that this piece ended on a hopeful note. :)

Absolutely, and sometimes we forget it is possible to change those patterns, but it is.

This piece did not end how I expected it to-I like that. I love the flow that was set up, toward the end-voicing the cats and interacting with each other. Nice work!

The bit with the cats, i did not make that up, it actually is a real moment that was one of the steps towards finding our way back, so to speak.
