Cooking

I started making stuff from the book Deceptively Delicious. There are probably a lot of you who don't care about my cooking exploits, but I felt like sharing. The idea is to make foods you regularly make but to hide vegetables and stuff in them. Basically to trick picky eaters. here's what I have tried so far.

Frozen Fruit Bars
Just berries, yogurt, and a little sugar.
Terrific!

Mac and Cheese with pureed Navy Beans
Can't even tell there is anything weird in there, and everyone loved it!

Mashed Potatoes with pureed Cauliflower
I added some seasonings to it because I thought it was a little bland, but no one noticed there was anything different about them, so yay!

Oatmeal with Pumkin
Indy did not like it, which actually surprised me. I might try it again with a different puree. I liked it though.

Hot Chocolate with pureed Sweet Potato
I know it sounds weird, but I wanted to try it because I LOVE hot chocolate. Although i wanted to like it, it just did not work for me at all.

Grilled Cheese with pureed Sweet Potato
Indy did not like it. I think because he loves grilled cheese and knew it didn't taste like grilled cheese. It tasted okay to me, but I think I would use less sweet potato than the recipe calls for.

Chocolate Chip Cookies with Chick Peas
Indy really liked these, which is not surprising. It was me that had a hard time with them. They tasted fine, i just couldn't get past the fact that there were chick peas in them I think.

Next up I will be trying:

French Toast with pureed Pineapple or Banana
You can use either one, I guess it depends on what mood I am in when I make it. Indy tried french toast once and didn't like it. But he likes waffles so i am going to try again.
EDIT: this was the best french toast I have ever had, and Indy loved it!

Mozarella Sticks with pureed Cauliflower
Never made cheese sticks before, well see what happens.
EDIT: These were perfect and everyone enjoyed them!

Chicken Nuggets with pureed Broccoli
We all like chicken nuggets so this should hopefully work.
EDIT: Indy was asking for these for days he loved them so much.
