I have a confession to make. Once I make it, I will be either reviled as a tasteless consumer of common entertainments, or I will be embraced by other people who have long kept such feelings buried deep in their souls.
I love Phantom of the Opera. I really love it. And after confessing my love for it on Facebook, I discovered two of the derby girls also REALLY love Phantom.
So, this evening the three of us went to see the sequel, Love Never Dies. And it was awesome. It was awesome watching it with people who recognised the common musical motifs between the two productions. Who could comment and discuss the plotline during intermission. And who could join with me afterwards in joyous and shame-free rendition of some of our favourite Phantom songs
We totally have to organise a phantom sing-along one day.
