Back and an Update
Okay. I'm back and I feel ... better. I won't say 'good', because that would be a lie. But better is good. Better is the best I could hope for at the moment.
Writing wise, I'm picking up speed again.
Though I'm technically still signed up for this last paperlegends Merlin Big Bang, I doubt I'll finish in time or that it will be long enough to qualify. The fandom will always have a warm place in my writer's heart, but the show itself doesn't have much pull with my muses any longer. I still have a file full of ideas that I would love to see written, I just don't feel like I'm the writer to do it.
More positively, I finished my reverse bang for the cap_ironman. YAY for finishing things! I've also signed up for three other big bang's that I think I'll do okay with - c_im_bigbang, marvel_bang, and teenwolf_bb. I've already got 1200 words for the c_im one, another 1000 or so for the m_b and I'm trying to decide on tw_bb ideas. Teen Wolf is currently the fandom with the most of my feels followed in a close second by Avengers.
Which is not to say that BAP hasn't started poking at me. I've got an open fic at the moment based off of their mv One Shot.
For those of you who are here exclusively for my b2st fanfic... I have been re-reading the fics that I've got open at the moment, especially 101 Complications. It's my goal to finish that fic this year, if nothing else. I'd also like to clean up the earlier chapters at some point. Whenever a project ends up spread out over multiple years, I sometimes lose track of plot points or change them altogether and leave things hanging here and there.
I'd also like to go through and do the same with some of my older DBSK fics. The Long Exile and The Game, in particular. No major changes, just smoothing everything out. It's amazing how many mistakes will jump out at you - even for a fic you know was beta'd by someone else - when you don't look at it for a few years and then pull it out again.
Over the years, my dongsaeng, my beta-muse, and I have been RPing out a massive mutant universe that includes B2st, BAP, DBSK, nu'est, 2PM, 1TYM, 4Minute, BEG, and other assorted KPop (and random JPop/Rock) idols. The goal is to turn it into a Fic 'verse. ^_^ It even has its own lj comm, though at the moment it's locked to us. Technically it directly crosses over with the X-Men, but official Marvel charas only get mentioned sporadically.
And, in the middle of all of that, my brother and I are still working on our original stuff. Yowza.
