So the new Beast mv is out.

First of all, I love the song. I can easily see this becoming one of my favorites, but so far they haven't put out anything I didn't like, so a favorite among favorites, you know? ^_^

Yoseob's voice kills me in the best possible ways. This? This is what was missing in the Japanese releases they made. That confidence and that power are just. *_* I think Dongwoon has improved quite a lot, both in dancing and in singing. (don't get me wrong, I've always liked him, but he's always been playing catch up with the others and as he's been growing, he's been a little awkward. nice to see that fading finally) Everyone else was up to their usual standard.

I've seen a lot of negative commentary about the dance highlight, but honestly? I liked the shuffle thing. It looks simple until you really start watching their feet (after the 26th viewing once you've stopped looking at everything else). Then it looks a little more complicated. I'd trip up and fall flat on my face trying to do that. Is it their hardest steps ever? No. It shouldn't be, though. This fits the song. Anything more overtly complex would overwhelm the song itself. I hate it when they try to put the same kind of dance to both fast and slow songs. IT DOESN'T FIT. So everyone complaining about the 'simple' cheoreography can just GTFO. It's a slow song. The dance should not be all complicated and big a' la' Bad Girl or Shock. Obviously can't give an overall opinion of the dance until we see, you know, the whole dance, but what I've seen so far I like.

I liked the outfits. They looked good. Why are people complaining about them looking good? Idiots. It's supposed to be somber and simple. Guess what they achieved? Somber and simple. If they'd pulled out Junhyung and Hyunseung's preferred wardrobes for this, I'd have had to cringe. Not sure how I feel about Hyunseung's hair, but... It's growing on me. Was happy to see Yoseob's lightened a bit, even if I still miss the blonde the most.

The girl was pretty and I thought she and Junhyung fit together nicely. Yeah, I know a lot of people were upset that junhyung was playing the lead again, but really, he and Doojoon are the only two who manage to look natural with the girls. Vibes from the others end up being Yoseob=cute little brother, Gikwang=clueless dork, Dongwoon=horny pimp, and Hyunseung=alienwhy are you in my bubble? None of which would have worked for this MV. Gikwang's brand of cute cluelessness worked great in Beautiful and Dongwoon owned the horny pimp in the Mystery bit of fun, but that just wouldn't have cut it here. I suppose they could have put Doojoon in the lead, but they'd have needed a different girl. This one matched Junhyung best.

The only other legitimate complaint I saw (because I don't consider Beast sucks, Gikwang should go solo again and its ilk to be legitimate complaints) was about hte randomness of the spaceship, BUT! I have solved this confusing quandary! I KNOW WHY THERE'S A SPACESHIP! *nodnodnod* Yes, ma'am, I sure do! It's like this, see?

Junhyung is from the distant future and the girl is from the past! The spaceship from his time and her faded, worn picture clearly illiterate this! And the book that they're using to communicate allowed Junhyung to go back in time once, but it was a one shot deal. And when they tried to make it work in reverse, to bring her to the future, it failed horribly, cuz, you know, she's dead in his time, and it gave them only one moment to almost touch again before crumpling into dust and taking with it all the power of the book. Thus, they can never communicate again!

See? Makes perfect sense.
