New Kids on the Block had a lot of hits...
So last night my sister Sommer & I went to the New Kids on the Block concert in the New Orleans Arena. This was a fulfillment of a childhood dream and it went beyond any expectations I ever had for it. That was by far the best show I have ever been to. I honestly can barely speak. I don't ever dance unless I've had a drink to loosen me up, but I didn't need anything last night. Just a horrible imitation of pizza and a Sunkist.
The songs from their new album that they did were "Single", "Summertime", "2 in the Morning", "Click Click Click", "Dirty Dancing", "Twisted", and "Grown Man". Btw, "Grown Man" was probably the best one. ^_^ Lots of crotch in that one. And hip thrusting. They put Donnie's stuff on the big screen as he pointed to it when they went through the first chorus. There was lots of screaming.
Their old songs just made everyone so happy. They did "Hangin' Tough", "Please Don't Go Girl," "My Favorite Girl", "Cover Girl", "The Right Stuff", "I'll Be Loving You Forever", "Tonight", "Games", and "Step by Step". They did the little dance too for "The Right Stuff"!!!! It made me so happy.
What was REALLY super awesome was that Jordan performed "Give It to You" and Joey sang "Believe". I know I mentioned "Cover Girl" earlier but it needs to actually be mentioned here because Donnie sang it by himself. Right before Jordan sang his song, he sang a little something that I couldn't hear because he opened his shirt and I think an orgasm may have ripped through the arena. OMG he's got an amazing body!!!
Oh! Donnie waved at me & sister! And it really was us he was waving to b/c we were on the first side row & we were the only ones jumping up & down desperately trying to get his attention. And I got to touch Joey, Donnie, Jordan, and Jon! *flail* Though I'm really upset that I didn't get to touch Danny because he was my favorite when I was little. I even had his doll when I was a kid!
But now it's all about Donnie. MMM! I wanna do naughty things to him. LOL He was definitely the fave last night. He got the most screams out of any of them.
They talked a lot to the crowd and made jokes at the others' expense. There was a really funny part about Viagra. Apparently Jordan watched the Chris Rock special earlier that day and he was remembering some kind of Viagra joke. If I had the picture it would be easier to explain. Basically they had posed at the end of one of the songs and they put the picture up on the big screen. Joey looked at the picture and said "Well as you can see, we've been practicing our poses." From left to right there was Jon, Jordan, Donnie, Danny, Joey. Jon was turned slightly to the side with his visible hand on his hip. Jordan had his head down with his almost in an inverted 'V'. Donnie had his back to the audience. Danny had his arms crossed gangsta style. Joey was turned half way to the side where you could see the outline of his booty. Then Joey said, "So Donnie and I decided to show you some ass. Jon is Superman." Somewhere in that part, he noticed something in the audience. A woman had cutouts of their faces from the 80's. Joey pointed to them. "I want those. Can I have those? I need them." So of course, they were handed forward. After Joey got them, he said, "Jordan what were you thinking here?" Jordan attempted to answer, but Joey grabbed the Jordan face and told him. "I'll answer for you." He held up the face and said something, but I couldn't hear it because everyone was laughing so hard. Then he let Jordan speak and what did Jordan say he was thinking in that picture? "C'mon Viagra! Work already!" Well, he's not old enough to need it, but it was super funny. He then continued on to say "I'm just joking. I don't need Viagra." Then Joey picked up where he left off by taking Danny's pose and going "I don't need no Viagra." He then went back and grabbed the Jordan face and said "I'm just joking. I don't need Viagra." He switched to the Danny face and deepened his voice and said "I don't need no Viagra." He grabbed the Donnie face and said, "Girl, you know I don't need no Viagra." Everyone cheered. Then he took his 13 year old face and said in a high-pitched voice, "What's Viagra?" It was very funny.
Later in the show, or maybe before... Anyway, it was right after a song and Donnie was front & center while the rest of them hung out around the band. And I saw this black thing go sailing onto the stage and land at Donnie's feet. He looked down and I blinked before turning to my sister. "Was that a bra?" I asked her. I quickly turned back to see him pick it up and prove what I already knew. It was a bra. He looked at it, then looked at the audience. "Now, you know I have a fetish," he said before he put his face in it. He said he didn't smell it and then put it back down on stage.
I don't have a voice right now and I hurt from jumping up and down so much. I'll add more stuff as I remember it.
