Trick or Treat Letter
Dear Trick or Treater:
Thank you for writing for me! For this round, I’ve generally focused a lot on characters and not on ships, but I’m not opposed to ships generally and am happy for whatever in most cases. Given the short minimums of this exchange, I tried to keep each section short and this letter is mostly a collection of what was in the signup, but if you want more extensive prompts, for a lot of these fandoms you can look through my old letters as well. If you have any questions, please just ask the mod to pass the question onto me-I’m quick to respond!
General
General Likes:
General Dislikes:
In general, I don't take well to crack fic, soapbox fic/issuefic, amnesia fic, body swaps, cringe comedy, and plots based on miscommunication or jealousy. If there is hurt, I would like comfort, or I often just can't get through it-same goes for angst (unless explicitly requested, of course!). That said, these are general dislikes--they're not DNWs, and if you have a brilliant plot, I'll probably still love it.

Skip Beat!
This is one of my favourite canons, despite how long it is-I love how persistent Kyoko is, and the slow-burn romance between her and Ren. I love Moko’s sometimes frosty and aggravated support, and Yashiro’s entire personality.
For this canon, I’m mostly looking for a treat. I’d basically love a slice of life for any or all of them-just any scene where Moko and Kyoko or Ren and Yashiro are being friends. Maybe they’re on set, or just coming off set, or maybe they’re at a big cast party or release party or something? I love formal events, so a major gala would be great. I don’t know, I’d just love to see them all hanging out and being relaxed.
For Kyoko and Ren as a ship, I’d love basically anything from domestic fluff to wedding fluff to first-time smut to every accidental pregnancy trope ever. Or a “fake-dating” take where they’re cast as romantic leads on a TV drama would be fun! Honestly, I love these two, make them kiss.
Dublin Murder Squad Series
I’m new to this series, but I love how each individual books focuses on a particular detective. I’d essentially just love more for any of these characters.
For a trick, I’d love to see any of the detectives running up against the unknown or the supernatural, and how they deal with it. Alternatively, I’m always up for throwing in a bit of Lovecraft-inspired cosmic horror and having that wreck someone’s head.
For a treat, I’ll take slice of life for pretty much any of these characters. I would love some domestic fluff for Cassie and Sam, or family shenanigans for Frank and Holly. I also love the way Stephen and Antoinette bounce off each other, so a scene of them in the Murder squad room would be great.
Harry Potter
I’ve asked solely for the next generation kiddos in the same year: Rose, Scorpius and Albus. You can feel free to completely ignore Cursed Child in this, and either a trick or a treat would be great. In terms of relationships, I’m partial to Scorose.
I’d love to see Hogwarts at Halloween featuring in this, whether it’s just them enjoying the Halloween feast or if something mysterious or spooky happens.
Tortall
For this, I’m definitely looking for a treat! I’ve rambled for far too long about both of these pairings in my Fic in the Box letter, if you need more, but generally: I’d love me some mid-autumn fluff.
Weirdly, I’m quite fond of Modern and Mundane AUs for Tortall, so I’m happy to have the Tortall setting, or any Modern/Mundane AU you can think of, from coffee shop to college to whatever. I just want the pairings to be together and be fluffy and for there to be apple cider and all the great and wonderful mid-autumn vibes.
Bones
The Squint Squad! I love background characters, because there’s so much room to play with them. I’m fine with either a trick or a treat here.
I’d love if the Jeffersonian were haunted and the more scientifically minded squints were reacting to it or denying its existence. Definitely would like humour and minor spookiness-or general slice of life in the Jeffersonian.
Castle
I love the supporting characters in this show, from level-headed Alexis, to Kevin and Esposito as partners, and Lanie the coroner! I’m partial to Esposito/Lanie, or to see any and all of these at the precinct in autumn in New York City.
Or the records room could be haunted-I’d love to see them bringing more people into it, while Castle and Kate are away!
Numb3rs
This show is great because it opposes such different groups, and I’d love to see how they reacted to the supernatural! Between Charlie denying there can be any supernatural, to Don and others being open to the possibility, there’s so much room for character interactions and spookiness!
More generally, I especially love Colby-I love his self-reflective lines (“Colby, go down the elevator shaft. Colby, jump in the bay. Hey, Colby, climb the Sixth Street Bridge”), and his general personality. I want more of Colby! I’d love more on his past, such as his relationship with his family (3 generations of military service, plus he has a sister), his service in Afghanistan, how he finds himself at the FBI, or his reflections on Charlie’s unorthodox math solutions. I’d love to see him on the CalSci campus (presumably he went to college himself on the GI bill, since I expect FBI requires a degree), or his moving towards the future. Basically I love Colby, give me more. I’m open to ships for him, but I’m not really picky about them and would rather they were not the focus.
Shetland
I’d love some spooky Shetland in the autumn, when it’s starting to get cold! I’ve always loved the atmosphere of this show, the landscapes and scenery, and just the overall vibe. Again, I’m open to either tricks or treats for this, from a scary, supernatural experience for one of these characters, to just slice of life of the characters in autumn in Shetland.

General
General Likes:
- Fics that are character-focused, character-driven, and deal with character exploration or character development. Show me aspects of a character I never considered before, or explorations of how a character's upbringing influences their worldview!
- Fics as challenge, whether it be a challenge on canon, on fanon, on fandom, or a comment on our own reality!
- A focus on relationships, particularly how a character interacts with the world around them and other characters based on their upbringing and worldview.
- Thematically, I love when characters are put in a tough spot, moral ambiguity, and themes around honour, duty, and responsibility.
- All flavours of AU. Canon-divergence, Modern AUs, Mundane AUs, crossovers, etc, especially if it interacts with one of the above.
- World-building, especially through in-universe documents (please consider this an opt-in to pretty much whatever in-universe document or weird in-universe storytelling device you can dream up).
- Romance of all varieties: fluff, happy endings, drunken confessions, friends-to-lovers, enemies-to-lovers, fake dating, fake marriage, arranged marriages, established relationships, slow-burn, shovel talk, and pining (mutual or otherwise). In general, I prefer M/F pairings, but I don’t mind M/M or F/F pairings (I just enjoy them differently because I’m cishet).
- Smut-wise, I love first times, gentle sex, rough sex, possessive themes, mild BDSM (e.g. bondage, spanking with a hand), D/s with femsub, impregnation and pregnancy.

- Character bashing. In general, I like to imagine that all characters are like people-they're complex, and they have an array of good points and bad points.
- Except otherwise indicated, non-canonical major character death, graphic violence and torture (graphic being “more than what is in canon”), non-con or dub-con, PWP or large age differences (>15)
- Adultery or infidelity (specifically, this is mostly about the betrayal--if you have a plot where two people are married for convenience and happen to have other relationships, that wouldn't trigger as long as everyone knows and doesn't care)
- Smut-wise, unless it’s indicated above in my likes, I’m likely not going to appreciate anything kinky. To be more specific, I DNW A/B/O, age play, humiliation, bloodplay, cannibalism or vore, watersports, scat, mpreg, snuff, or underage (<15).
