I figured out how to record and edit videos! \^o^/
I downloaded OBS and XSPLIT... its pretty cool :O my pc can handle recording pretty good quality videos >_< but the filesizes are HUMONGOUS @O@;;
so I tried to learn how to shrink the videos and make them smaller in filesize, but retain their quality... I tried recording in lower settings, but the result isn't as good as those people uploading on youtube >_<
I tried looking up guides on youtube.. but.. damn.. those people who are good at it don't really share guides, and the tons and tons of tons of guides out there are so.. lousy and.. stupid =o= most of the guides are more catered to streaming anyway :O
Why don't I want to start streaming? it is the 'in' thing for gamers nowadays afterall, right?
Yeah.. but I don't think I've got what it takes to stream.. its very difficult >_< you have to set up a lot of things to have a nice, presentable stream.. it takes a TON of time to produce stuff, edit stuff, upload stuff.. and you have to be not only entertaining, but also be able to build a community~ I might be entertaining to some of my friends, but I am a low level comedian that has a very small target audience full of in-jokes and stuff.. plus my accent is weird and I slur my words and I don't look attractive and I'm not even good at games and I don't rage well and don't have a ton of emotional range.. most of my streams will be ^O^ ingame but -_- face on webcam.. rofl
Anyways, I wanna record and edit videos to upload online to share and record things I do ingame ^_^ I spend like 30% of my life working, 30% in FFXIV, and 30% sleeping.. (remaining 10% is pooping and .. i'll leave it to your imagination ^_~) so being able to have a sort of vlog for what I do ingame is nice, not only for anyone thats interested.. but more importantly for myself :O
As I grow older nowadays.. I find that I don't really remember what I was doing 10 years ago.. or even last year @_@ what did I eat for dinner two days ago.. omg.. I can't even remember o_o huh... +_+ to be fair, it was last year.. so long ago 'o'
So yeah! I'm also interested in uploading videos because I always thought its a cool progression from blogging :> I've always wanted to get into it, and things have finally become easy enough that a noob like me can do it ^o^ I'm still waffling on where to upload my content.. I guess I'll upload GIFs everywhere.. and videos will probably go up on youtube..
I still have not made a 'public' youtube channel -o- my frist try at a video was uploaded on facebook ^o^ not much feedback (read: none) so far.. but at least it has a view counter so I know I'm not *totally* ignored :D (unlike blogposts back in the day.. T.T) But long-form videos such as that I think are less suited to facebook and better on youtube.. :3
I'm not looking to make any money or be famous.. I've given up on such ambitions loooong ago.. its just.. wayy too much effort and the reward is.... well, lets just say that I don't need to feed my ego THAT much. And I'm lazy ^o^~
