hmmm... there are loads more clues than i thought in this episode.
doctor funkenstein referring to himself in the third person prior to boarding the presidential plane certainly piqued my curiosity. there's a lot about him that just doesn't click, and then it does. his frenetic nature seems more eccentric than usual.
why the smeg is kate wearing heals in the fucking desert?! it's like she's trying really hard to be a british version of scully, but failing completely. and why is she there alone? admittedly, the tumbleweeds were a nice touch.
could jac be any more annoying? has she always been this smegging whimsical, or is it all part of some super secret thing that the doctor has put together with unit? cuz, honestly, her cringing at everything is annoying the ever loving crap out of me. and why does she go everywhere with a shopping bag?
turmezistan and new mexico bear striking resemblance to wales. especially turmezistan and it's grafitti'd welsh/english signage.
of course, all US soldiers are called "johnny"...and they're clearly stupid enough to fall for the lies of a shapeshifting clone of their loved ones, because 'murica!
Osgood: "you used to wear question marks."
Doctor: "Oh, i know, yes, i did"
Osgood: "they were nice. why don't you anymore?"
Doctor: "oh, i do. i have question mark underpants"
Osgood: "makes one wonder what the question is"
O_o seriously? look, i like the question marks as well, but this is just an odd exchange with a not-at-all-subtle reference to the doctor's junk.
can i just point out, this fucking "hybrid" nonsense is starting to get as old as the foreshadowing of clara's eventual exit. i get it, the doctor's worried about it, but does it have to be mentioned ever other episode now?
so, zygon's can be held captive with only a few strategically placed seatbelts? i'll remember that should i come across one in the future.
i also believe there is a whole lot of truth lacking in north america.
next week shall be interesting to see whether any of my suspsions are true, or if i'm just crazy.
