i kind of feel like i was the only person today who didn't whinge about the weather. i live in a sub-tropical climate, it's november...you do the math

We had one here, the night it snowed. I find it very weird - coldish day. A bit of a storm then SNOW. Not the build up of heat and humidity leading to an explosion I am used to.
I can imagine you sitting on your front deck with a glass of something tasty watching the storm roll through. Only too well.... :)
this one was an absolute corker! devestation in the gap and keperra (tho not as widespread as the gap). 200000 homes without power - even still and it's been about 3 days! there was one tosspot photographer killed because he was unaware of the "when it rains - no drains" motto of "storm water drains" (don't you love the irony?).
it was the most beautiful thing to watch moving in; a hint of fear was there as well. all in all, i loved it! then mum called to ask us how much damage we'd suffered...one of the trees in the bakyard uprooted! the car got damaged, but the house was fine. they were cleaning up trees and all kinds of things along the street and were without power until early monday. it was just that awesome!
bet you don't really miss them that much now :)
til next.... ~Kits~ (i miss the 'just before snow' weather)
Thank you for your verbalised Queensland-appreciation. I often wonder why some people live here, if they don't like it. Me, I wouldn't leave it for the world. Ahhhhh.... at least we're having a proper summer storm season this year.
yea, i don't get the constant whining about the weather. for the most part these people have lived here their entire lives! i really do love the irony of the locals, i really really do!
one of the 'attractive' features of brisbane i think :)
